The Office of Institutional Research (OIR) at UOWD plays a vital role in advancing the university’s mission by delivering high-quality, data-informed insights to support strategic planning, academic excellence, and operational effectiveness. OIR is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and disseminating institutional data to stakeholders across the university, ensuring evidence-based decision-making and continuous improvement. The department champions transparency, accountability, and innovation in institutional effectiveness, working closely with academic and administrative units to help shape the future of UOWD.

The University of Wollongong in Dubai is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Policies and Governance Officer to support the coordination of academic governance activities and the maintenance of institutional policies and procedures. This role contributes to institutional integrity by ensuring policies are current, compliant, and aligned with regulatory and university standards. The post holder will also assist in accreditation preparation and manage course approval processes in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Assist policy custodians in developing, reviewing, and implementing institutional policies in line with organisational objectives.
Maintain the Institutional Policy Directory, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and timely policy reviews.
Coordinate the policy approval process, managing feedback, revisions, and approvals through relevant committees.
Communicate policy updates to stakeholders and ensure accessibility of approved policies.
Manage course approval processes with internal schools and UOW, ensuring governance compliance and timely implementation.
Maintain the academic catalogue to ensure accurate reflection of approved course offerings.
Support accreditation and academic governance activities through administrative coordination and documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
1–3 years of experience in a similar or related role.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear and concise documentation.
Proficiency in MS Office and document management systems.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Adaptability and willingness to learn.
Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
