Job Objective
Ensure successful project delivery by leading engineering teams, managing technical scope, controlling quality, cost and schedule, mitigating risks and coordinating stakeholders, ultimately delivering the project on time, within budget and to specified standards, acting as the main technical liaison for the client.
Responsibilities
Project Deliverables
- Oversee a team that manages and coordinates multidisciplinary engineering inputs and deliverables across multiple execution centres
- Appraise the Project Engineering team on key execution principles and contractual basis
- Prepare Discipline Design Instruction and Project Engineering manpower plans, and multidisciplinary contract requisition scopes
- Interface with discipline managers for resources
- Create and implement work plan for discipline and inter‑discipline interfaces; identify key dates, milestones and deliverables, drive completion and manage forecasts
- Create work‑share plan
HSE, Quality and Assurance
- Check compliance with Project Quality System, audit projects and proactively drive team compliance
- Ensure HSES reviews are planned and implemented and support initiatives
- Manage development of project‑specific procedures
Quality Assurance of Engineering Deliverables
- Develop and manage schedule
- Create and implement work plan for discipline and inter‑discipline interfaces; identify key dates, milestones and deliverables, drive completion and manage forecasts
- Resolve escalated delays and changes, ensure recovery plans are implemented and reviewed
- Create work‑share plan
Design Verification
- Drive and participate in Design Verification, ensuring completion and understanding risk and mitigation requirements
- Use contract knowledge to support decisions on schedules, milestones and change management
- Understand customer needs and deliver satisfaction; monitor and support initiatives
- Quantify effects of change project‑wide and develop mitigation plans against change
People Management
- Supervise technical professionals in delivery of engineering deliverables including checking work
- Coordinate and manage inputs from large interdisciplinary team (typically 50+)
- Provide project‑team communication; strong public speaking and leadership to engage all participants
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Approximately 15 years in a project delivery environment
- Experience in mega EPC/EPCm projects required
- Previous experience with ADNOC Projects/PMC an advantage but not required
- Deep understanding of technical work scopes and commercial aspects of projects
- Ability to use contract conditions to support decisions on schedules, milestones and change management
- Good working knowledge of specifications and standards
- Extensive experience delivering to internal customers across Engineering disciplines
- Familiarity with change management practices and robust management of change
- Expert knowledge of standards, procedures and work practices; follow project execution flow chart and develop skills in project and technical execution
- Expert ability in application of procedures and work practices governing Engineering Management and Project Engineering deliverables
- Leadership ability to manage Project Engineering team and interface between Engineering Discipline Groups
- Strong communicator, motivates team, proactive attitude and solution orientation
- Competence in managing technical matters and interfaces with third parties
- Ability to manage and enhance performance and build effective teams
