Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced PMC Senior QA/QC Engineer (E&I) – Site based for one of our key clients in Abu Dhabi as part of our ADNOC Gas PMC team within our Oil, Gas & New Energies business.
Due to the nature of the projects and client expectation, the position will be full time site based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Key Objectives
- Lead Procurement Quality Oversight – Oversee quality assurance activities related to the procurement of major equipment and services, ensuring strict compliance with project specifications, budgets, and delivery schedules.
- Strengthen Supplier Quality Performance – Develop and maintain strong relationships with approved vendors, driving consistent quality, reliability, and adherence to international standards and client requirements.
- Ensure Compliance with Contractual Quality Terms – Review and validate purchase orders and supplier documentation to confirm compliance with technical, legal, and quality benchmarks, minimizing risk exposure.
- Support Cross-Functional Quality Integration – Collaborate with engineering, planning, and procurement teams to embed robust quality controls throughout the procurement lifecycle and ensure achievement of project milestones.
- Drive Quality-Centric Cost Optimization – Identify opportunities for value engineering and alternative sourcing strategies that enhance quality outcomes while supporting cost efficiency and timely delivery.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Role Overview: The Senior QA/QC Engineer (E&I) – Site-Based is responsible for managing and ensuring quality compliance across procurement and construction activities during FEED and detailed design phases. This role guarantees that all materials, equipment, and services meet project specifications, international standards, and client requirements. Operating from the project site, the engineer works closely with cross-functional teams to uphold quality standards, mitigate risks, and drive supplier performance in alignment with the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Procurement Quality Strategy Execution – Implement quality-driven procurement strategies that align with project timelines, budgets, and technical requirements.
- Supplier Qualification & Evaluation – Conduct vendor assessments through technical audits, documentation reviews, and compliance checks to ensure reliability and quality.
- Contractual Quality Compliance – Review and validate purchase orders and subcontract agreements to ensure adherence to quality standards and minimize risk exposure.
- Technical Documentation Review – Analyze engineering drawings, datasheets, and specifications to confirm procurement deliverables meet required quality benchmarks.
- Inspection & Verification Oversight – Manage site-based inspections, material verification, and quality documentation for incoming goods and services.
- Supplier Performance Monitoring – Perform audits and evaluations to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and drive continuous improvement.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work closely with engineering, procurement, planning, and HSE teams to integrate quality controls across workflows.
- Reporting & Recordkeeping – Maintain accurate quality records, inspection logs, and supplier KPIs; provide regular updates to project and quality management.
- Risk Mitigation & Corrective Action – Identify procurement-related quality risks, lead root cause analysis, and implement corrective/preventive measures.
- Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing – Support junior quality staff, promote best practices, and contribute to the development of procurement quality procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
Expected:
- Bachelor of Engineering in related discipline
- Experience as Quality Engineer in Procurement background.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in Oil and Gas industry with 5 years of experience in similar role
- ADNOC projects experience is mandatory
