Job summary

Wood in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Control supervisor to oversee EPC contractors for I&C activities, cabling, DCS, PLC and field instruments on onshore projects. You will ensure alignment with FEED and construction plans while coordinating across engineering, QA, HSE and operations teams.

You will lead site activities, manage multiple contractors, review method statements and drive commissioning readiness, with potential extended site rotations as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in instrumentation, electronics, or control engineering.
• 15+ years in I&C construction with 5–7 years in a PMC/consultant role.
• Experience on onshore oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery or large industrial projects.
• Deep knowledge of DCS, PLC, SCADA and field instrumentation; ATEX IECEx.
• Strong leadership, site coordination and reporting abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple contractors and tight schedules.
• Onshore site-based role; extended site presence and rotations may be required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise EPC contractors for I&C activities, cabling, panels, DCS, PLC and field instruments.
• Ensure work aligns with FEED, EPC scope and construction plans.
• Monitor site progress and productivity.
• Act as client representative to ADNOC PMT on site and coordinate with EPC contractors through construction to handover.
• Review method statements, ITPs and procedures.
• Review engineering drawings and provide constructability input during design.
• Identify technical issues and resolve with engineering teams.
• Support construction schedules and work sequencing; interface with QA, QC, HSE and Operations.
• Oversee pre-commissioning: loop checks, instrument calibration, FAT/SAT, start-up readiness.
• Enforce ADNOC HSE standards and project quality requirements.
• Prepare daily/weekly reports; track progress, issues and risks; support change management.

• Minimum 15 years of experience in I & C construction with at least 5-7 years in a PMC or consultant role.
• Proven experience on onshore oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery or large industrial projects.
• Deep knowledge of DCS, PLC, SCADA systems, field instrumentation, hazardous area ATEX IECEx.
• Strong understanding of construction & commissioning workflows, HSE systems and project coordination.
• Strong leadership and site coordination skills, excellent communication and reporting abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple contractors and work under tight schedules.
• Onshore project site-based role; may require extended site presence and rotation schedules depending on project requirements.

• Oversee loop checks, instrument calibration, FAT and SAT.
• Ensure systems are ready for start-up and handover.
• Participate in completion systems and punch list clearance.

HSE & Quality Compliance

• Enforce ADNOC HSE standards and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, international codes and quality standards.

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare daily and weekly reports.
• Track progress, issues and risks.
• Support change management and project controls.
