Job summary

Worley in Abu Dhabi seeks a Senior PMC Engineering Leader with extensive offshore and upstream experience to oversee the Engineering Procurement phases of major projects.

You will manage a multidisciplinary team, ensure competency, and coordinate with Owners, Contractors and Vendors to deliver on time, safely and within budget.

Experience in FEED/EPC, PMC roles and ADNOC exposure are highly valued.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with 15+ years in Oil & Gas/Petrochemical.
  • 5+ years in a senior role on major Oil & Gas/Petrochemical projects managing a team.
  • Experience within FEED & EPC.
  • Experience in PMC roles.
  • Experience in Offshore & Upstream projects.
  • Must have previous experience working in offshore projects.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Offshore projects.
  • ADNOC experience preferable.

Responsibilities

  • Manage PMC Engineering group day-to-day and oversee Contractor during EPC phases.
  • Ensure PMC staff competency per PMC Contract.
  • Lead development and implementation of engineering processes and systems.
  • Resource Engineering group with correct disciplines to meet PMC requirements.
  • Provide independent PMC services and technical advice for risk recovery.
  • Participate in design reviews considering constructability, operability, safety.
  • Coordinate and review vendor documents.
  • Obtain Owner approval for Engineering design per contract.
  • Interface across Piping, Mechanical, Structural, E&I and other disciplines.
  • Participate in customer reviews and meetings.
  • Conduct succession planning and performance assessments.
  • Ensure procedures are followed for efficient, right-first-time delivery.
  • Develop personnel through opportunities to broaden experience.
  • Site visits demonstrating safety leadership.
  • Maintain effective practices for Wood project management team.
  • Lead and coordinate technical and governance across project stages.
  • Set objectives per contract scope and corporate policy.
  • Organize team and delegate to encourage responsibility.
  • Achieve schedule, cost, quality, and HSE targets.
  • Provide guidance to stakeholders during project execution.
  • Oversee contracting parties and government bodies.
  • Manage cross-phase issues with existing facilities.
  • Provide leadership for PMT and Contractor to resolve interfaces.
  • Ensure policies and controls are adhered to.
  • Work with diverse cultures; resolve conflicts.
  • Carry out Bid evaluations and technical clarifications.
  • Incorporate field-initiated changes to deliverables.

Qualifications and Experience
  • A bachelors degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent from an accredited university with a minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry including a minimum of five (5) years (preferred) in the GCC region.
  • Must have at least five (5) years of experience in a similar position on major Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects managing a team of Specialists, Senior Engineers and Engineers.
  • Experience within FEED & EPC.
  • Experience in PMC roles.
  • Experience in Offshore & Upstream projects.
  • Must have previous experience working in offshore projects.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Offshore projects.
  • ADNOC experience is preferable.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all management aspects including day‑to‑day work allocation and supervision of the PMC Engineering group and the oversight of the Contractor during the Engineering Procurement phases of the Project.
  • To ensure PMC Engineering personnel are competent to perform their duties relating to the scope of work as identified in the PMC Contract.
  • To provide leadership in the development and implementation of engineering processes, procedures and systems operating within the Engineering group.
  • To ensure the Engineering group is resourced with the correct disciplines and size to deliver against the requirements of the PMC Contract.
  • To provide independent Project Management Consultancy services and technical opinion and advice related to short falls recovery plans minimizing potential risks and maintaining overall Project progress during the Engineering and Procurement phases in the Contractors Home Offices.
  • Participating in the design review and analysis consistent with requirements including consideration of constructability, testability, operability and maintainability, system interactions; environmental considerations; personnel safety and fire protection; and proper selection of materials.
  • Ensuring the orderly technical review, coordination and processing of vendor documents.
  • Securing approval from the Owner for the Engineering design in accordance with the Contract requirements.
  • Manage the day‑today interfacing between the Projects and the disciplines of Piping, Mechanical, Structural and E&I and specialist disciplines.
  • Participate in key customer reviews and meetings as required.
  • Conduct succession planning within the engineering team especially for key roles.
  • Implement competence assessments and regular performance assessments with the team.
  • Ensure the team knows and works to procedures in order to be efficient and right‑first‑time.
  • Provide development opportunities for personnel – to increase breadth of experience and capability.
  • Site visits to demonstrate safety leadership.
  • Develop and maintain effective working practices for the Wood project management team.
  • Take full responsibility and accountability for leadership and excellence in the achievement of coordinating both technical and governance through the different stages of the Project.
  • Identify and communicate project team objectives in accordance with the contract terms, scope of work and corporate policy.
  • Organize the project team, define individual responsibilities and motivate team members toward successful achievement of specified project goals particularly through regular project meetings.
  • Delegate work to the project team members in a manner that encourages individual responsibility.
  • Achieve scheduled performance, cost, quality and HSE requirements from award to acceptance.
  • Provide guidance to internal and external stakeholders during project execution to meet project objectives.
  • Oversee different contracting parties, owners, customers, government bodies and existing facilities in coordination.
  • Manage complicated issues among different project phases and the existing facilities.
  • Provide leadership and management for the PMT and Contractor to ensure safe, cost‑effective and timely resolution of all interfaces.
  • Ensure that company policies, procedures and controls are adhered to at all times.
  • Be exposed to different cultures, backgrounds and environments. Attend to and resolve conflicts, challenges and problems related to a large multi‑cultural and multi‑disciplinary technical workforce.
  • Carry out Technical Evaluation of Bids, Issue Bid Technical Clarifications, Technical Evaluation Reports and Recommendations.
  • Ensure incorporating where applicable the field‑requested and/or -initiated changes to Engineering deliverables.
