Wood is seeking an experienced PMC Project Engineer to coordinate and monitor engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities for major energy projects. You will ensure safety, schedule, budget and quality requirements are met for a high-profile client.

Role demands a strong engineering background, 10+ years in EPC/PMC contexts, and excellent coordination across disciplines. UAE-based with global project exposure and a focus on HSE and project governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering in a relevant discipline.
• 10+ years of EPC/PMC/oil & gas project experience.
• Strong understanding of project lifecycle, planning and risk management.
• Excellent English communication and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor engineering activities to achieve project objectives.
• Review drawings, specifications, and documents for compliance with requirements.

The Key Objective For This Role Is

To support the successful execution and delivery of the project by coordinating engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities, ensuring that project requirements related to safety, quality, cost, schedule, and technical performance are achieved in compliance with client specifications, contractual obligations, and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor engineering activities to ensure project objectives are achieved.
• Review engineering deliverables, drawings, specifications, and technical documents for compliance with project requirements.
• Liaise with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure effective project execution.
• Monitor project progress and report on schedule, cost, and technical performance.
• Support the development and implementation of project plans, procedures, and schedules.
• Review contractor and vendor submissions and provide technical evaluations.
• Assist in identifying project risks, technical issues, and potential delays, and support mitigation measures.
• Ensure compliance with client specifications, industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in project meetings, design reviews, constructability reviews, and technical discussions.
• Coordinate interfaces between different disciplines and project stakeholders.
• Support procurement activities, including material and equipment reviews and vendor coordination.
• Monitor construction and commissioning activities to ensure technical requirements are met.
• Ensure adherence to HSE and quality management systems throughout project execution.
• Prepare progress reports, technical correspondence, and project documentation.
• Support project close-out, commissioning, start-up, and handover activities.
• Provide technical guidance and assistance to project team members when required.

Expected

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation, Chemical, or related discipline).
• Typically 10+ years of experience in EPC, PMC, oil & gas, petrochemical, energy, or infrastructure projects.
• Experience in project engineering, project coordination, and multidisciplinary project environments.
• Good understanding of engineering design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project lifecycle management.
• Knowledge of project planning, scheduling, cost control, and risk management principles.
• Familiarity with international codes, standards, specifications, and HSE requirements.
• Experience reviewing engineering deliverables, vendor documents, and contractor submissions.
• Proficiency in project management and reporting tools, including MS Office and Primavera P6/MS Project.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and coordination skills.
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of quality management systems and project documentation processes.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• PMP or equivalent project management certification is an advantage.
