Job summary

Wood Group is seeking an experienced PMC Lead Static Engineer in Abu Dhabi to oversee the design, development and implementation of static equipment, ensuring safety, performance and strict conformance with project specifications and industry standards.

You will coordinate with EPC Contractors and IPMT, review technical deliverables, and lead engineering activities to meet ADNOC codes and standards while driving quality and schedule within the project.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • 15+ years of relevant oil and gas experience.
  • Strong communication skills are required.
  • Knowledge of engineering software and standards.
  • Ability to work independently and resolve complex issues.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership for mechanical static equipment design.
  • Coordinate with EPC Contractor and IPMT to ensure ADNOC standards compliance.
  • Review engineering deliverables for quality and code compliance.
  • Participate in design option development and project optimization.
  • Interface with multiple disciplines and contractor teams to resolve issues.
  • Support project managers with technical guidance and oversight.

The key objectives for this role are:


  • Provide technical expertise in all mechanical static equipment design

  • Ensure design and engineering compliance with relevant codes and ADNOC standards

  • Coordinate, Monitor and handle static equipment design and engineering with EPC Contractor as per project expectation and complete the same within the time frame

  • Work with other discipline engineers within IPMT, EPC Contractor, ADNOC Engineering / Operation / Site Interface to resolve technical issues and ensure quality Discipline Engineering execution and integrity etc.

  • Perform regular and timely technical reviews of Mechanical Static Engineering deliverables developed by engineering consultants/contractors, ensuring design quality in compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices.



Responsibilities


  • Ensure integration of overall Mechanical Static Engineering. Overall coordination within IPMT Mechanical Static Engineering Team

  • Ensure quality and accuracy of Engineering Consultant’s & EPC Contractor’s Mechanical Static Engineering design activities

  • Review and approval of Engineering Consultant's and EPC Contractor’s work and ensure compliance with ADNOC project specifications, relevant codes and standards, and best industry practices

  • Coordinate the required engineering participation in the development and analysis of various design options and business models. Contribute input and expertise in the development and analysis of various design options and business models to design optimization and validation.

  • Participate in teams for equipment sizing / equipment selection considering optimization and standardization.

  • Ensure that the facilities are designed in accordance with the latest corporate guidelines with respect to environment and health aspects.

  • Ensure full utilization of the existing facilities while optimizing the facilities required for the new projects.

  • Participate in layout reviews, Model review, design reviews, and technical workshops.

  • Provide technical assistance and coordination with other discipline engineers.

  • Coordinate technical reviews and bid evaluation, and performance evaluation.

  • Report to ADNOC Discipline Team Leader, Engineering Manager, and provide support to Project Managers and Engineers within the Project Management Team organization

  • Interface with Managers, Team Leaders and Engineers in Company's Technical Departments, Business Units, Operations Units, and Logistics Department

  • Interface regularly with Contractor’s Engineering and Project Management team and discipline engineers as and when required
