Job summary

Wood is seeking an experienced PMC Engineer (Commissioning Electrical) to supervise electrical pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for ADNOC Onshore in Abu Dhabi. You will ensure safe, compliant energization and handover, coordinating with EPC contractors, vendors and ADNOC Operations.

The role requires extensive experience with HV/MV/LV systems, switchgear and protective relays, and a thorough understanding of IEC/IEEE/NFPA standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience in electrical pre-commissioning and commissioning within oil and gas.
  • Strong understanding of HV/MV/LV electrical systems and switchgear.
  • Ability to review commissioning procedures, ITPs and test packages.

Responsibilities

  • Review EPC contractor's commissioning philosophy and procedures.
  • Monitor MC, RFC, system completion and punch-list closure.
  • Supervise and witness electrical pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
  • Ensure readiness before energization and adherence to safety processes.
  • Coordinate with ADNOC Operations, EPC Contractor and vendors.
  • Perform testing of electrical systems and energization activities.

Job description

Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced PMC Engineer (Commissioning Electrical) with extensive experience in the oil and Gas industry for ADNOC Onshore client to be based in Abu Dhabi within our Oil, Gas & New Energies business.

Due to the nature of the projects and client expectation, the position will be based at onshore site in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The Role

Responsible for PMC supervision, technical review, coordination and monitoring of allelectrical pre-commissioning, commissioning, energization, start-up and handover activitiesperformed by the EPC Contractor.

The Engineer shall ensure that electrical systems are commissioned safely, efficiently and in accordance withADNOC requirements, project specifications, approved procedures, HSE requirements and applicable IEC/IEEE/NFPA standards. PMC commissioning roles typically act as the interface between ADNOC, EPC contractors, vendors, construction and Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and approve EPC Contractor'scommissioning philosophy, procedures, method statements, ITPs, check sheets and test packages.
  • Review commissioning schedules and ensure alignment with project milestones.

  • Ensure properPTW, LOTO, electrical isolation and energization proceduresare implemented.
  • Review and witness FAT/SAT where applicable and site testing.

Experience should cover commissioning of:

  • HV/MV/LV switchgear and substations
  • 132 kV / 33 kV / 11 kV / 6.6 kV systems, where applicable
  • GIS/AIS switchgear

  • Protection relay testing and secondary injection

  • Energization and restoration activities

Electrical commissioning roles commonly include supervision of switchgear, transformers, UPS, MCCs, motors, earthing/lightning systems and relay/cable testing.
