Job Objective
The PMC Commissioning Superintendent is responsible for leading and supervising all commissioning activities for a major offshore project executed under the Project Management Consultancy PMC framework for the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company. The role ensures that all systems and subsystems are safely commissioned, tested, and handed over in full compliance with project specifications, ADNOC standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all offshore commissioning activities across multiple disciplines including mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and process systems.
- Ensure implementation of approved commissioning procedures, philosophies and system completion strategies in line with ADNOC requirements.
- Coordinate with construction, engineering and operations teams to ensure readiness for pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities.
- Oversee systemisation, punch listing and handover processes, ensuring proper documentation and certification of completed systems.
- Monitor EPC contractor commissioning performance to ensure compliance with project schedule, procedures and quality standards.
- Ensure strict adherence to HSE policies and safe commissioning practices, particularly for live plant interfaces and SIMOPS offshore.
- Review and approve commissioning dossiers, method statements, test procedures and system completion certificates.
- Identify commissioning risks and constraints, and implement mitigation measures to ensure safe and timely execution.
- Interface closely with operations teams to ensure a smooth handover, start‑up support and operational acceptance of systems.
- Supervise functional testing, loop checks, energisation and start‑up activities for offshore facilities.
- Timely resolution of technical issues, non‑conformances and system deficiencies during commissioning phases.
- Track and report commissioning progress, system readiness and key milestones to PMC and ADNOC management.
- Support development and execution of integrated commissioning schedules aligned with project timelines.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation or Process Engineering.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in oil and gas projects, with at least 5 years in commissioning roles on major offshore projects.
- Proven experience working in PMC roles on ADNOC or similar Middle East offshore developments.
- Strong knowledge of commissioning processes including pre‑commissioning systemisation, testing and start‑up.
- Familiarity with ADNOC standards, offshore HSE requirements and permit‑to‑work systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary commissioning teams in a complex offshore environment.
- Experience in SIMOPS, live plant commissioning and brownfield integration is highly preferred.
- Strong coordination and interface management skills with EPC contractors and operations teams.
- Proficiency in commissioning management systems, completion tools and reporting platforms.
- Excellent leadership, communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Fluency in English with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
