About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai within the Engineering department in Dubai, the Plumber is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing, drainage, water supply, and heating systems while ensuring safety compliance, timely completion of work orders, and effective communication within the engineering team. Plumber reports to the Engineering Duty Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints to plan and install plumbing, water supply, waste disposal, and gas/heating systems in line with existing infrastructure and safety standards.
• Install, repair, and maintain pipes, drainage systems, appliances, and fixtures, diagnosing and resolving issues such as leaks and blockages.
• Complete and document daily maintenance tasks and work orders using company systems (e.g. ACTABL), ensuring tasks are finalized before shift end.
• Follow all safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout, safe storage of materials, and completion of required safety training and certifications.
• Comply with company policies, engineering standards, and quality guidelines while reporting hazards, incidents, or equipment malfunctions.
• Communicate effectively across shifts and support departmental operations by attending meetings and performing additional duties as assigned.
