Role Context

The Plumber will help protect guest comfort and hotel continuity by completing plumbing repairs, routine maintenance, and urgent technical work across guest rooms, public areas, service spaces, and back-of-house facilities. The role requires dependable execution, quick response to operational concerns, careful stock control, and readiness to support emergency procedures when required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete plumbing repairs and maintenance work across the entire hotel complex.
  • Inspect pipes, taps, valves, drains, sanitary fixtures, water systems, and related plumbing equipment.
  • Diagnose leaks, blockages, pressure issues, faulty fittings, and other plumbing defects.
  • Carry out assigned tasks independently and within the required completion time.
  • Respond immediately to plumbing concerns that may affect guests, employees, safety, or hotel operations.
  • Attend guest room maintenance requests with professionalism and minimal disruption.
  • Check whether guests have any additional plumbing or maintenance needs before closing the job.
  • Repair or replace damaged pipes, fittings, taps, valves, traps, and sanitary components.
  • Clear blocked sinks, toilets, drains, and wastewater lines using approved methods.
  • Test completed repairs to confirm correct flow, pressure, drainage, and leak prevention.
  • Follow daily task lists and ensure all assigned work is completed or properly handed over.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed repairs, pending work, and materials used.
  • Monitor plumbing tools, spare parts, fittings, and workshop supplies.
  • Order or request additional materials before stock reaches critical levels.
  • Keep the plumbing workshop clean, organized, and safe at all times.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in reliable working condition.
  • Follow hotel operational standards, engineering procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Review and apply the relevant Operational Standards Manual for plumbing responsibilities.
  • Follow health, safety, hygiene, and environmental procedures during every task.
  • Use personal protective equipment and safe working practices when handling tools and materials.
  • Remain familiar with hotel emergency procedures and respond appropriately when required.
  • Report major faults, unsafe conditions, or recurring plumbing problems to the supervisor.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Housekeeping, Front Office, and other departments when repairs affect hotel operations.
  • Support task force teams during new hotel openings when assigned.
  • Assist with other reasonable engineering or maintenance duties requested by management.
Ideal Profile

The successful candidate will hold a diploma or certificate in Plumbing or a related technical trade. Applicants should have at least three years of experience in a similar plumbing role within a hotel, resort, commercial building, serviced residence, hospital, or other large facility. Practical knowledge of plumbing repairs, drainage systems, water supply lines, sanitary fixtures, valves, fittings, and routine preventive maintenance is required. The preferred candidate can work independently, respond quickly to urgent faults, and organize materials and tools effectively. Strong attention to safety, cleanliness, guest comfort, and timely task completion is essential.
