Job summary

A leading engineering recruitment firm is seeking a detail-oriented PLC Controls Engineer in Dubai. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain industrial control systems, possessing strong proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting. Required qualifications include a degree in engineering and relevant experience in automation. This role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and offers opportunities for training and system upgrades.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of hands-on experience in PLC programming and industrial automation.
• Certification in PLC programming or automation systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and test PLC control systems for automated equipment.
• Develop and modify ladder logic, function block, and structured text programs.
• Interface PLCs with HMIs, SCADA systems, sensors, and actuators.
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems during commissioning.
• Collaborate with engineers on system design and integration.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and specifications.
• Maintain technical documentation including wiring diagrams.
• Support system upgrades and retrofits.
• Train maintenance staff on PLC-based controls.
• Participate in onsite testing and field service visits.

Skills

PLC platforms knowledge (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi)

HMI/SCADA configuration skills

Communication protocol familiarity (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, OPC)

Electrical schematics interpretation

Problem-solving and debugging

Control panel design understanding

Communication and documentation skills

Education

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation/Mechatronics/Automation Engineering
