Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient PLC Controls Engineer to design, develop, test and maintain industrial control systems and automation solutions using Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on experience in PLC programming, troubleshooting and system integration across various platforms such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley and Mitsubishi.
Key Responsibilities
- Design program and test PLC control systems for automated equipment and machinery.
- Develop and modify ladder logic, function block and structured text programs.
- Interface PLCs with HMIs, SCADA systems, sensors, actuators and other control components.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to PLC‑controlled systems during commissioning and production phases.
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical and software engineers on system design and integration.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, industry codes and customer specifications.
- Maintain detailed technical documentation including wiring diagrams, logic flowcharts and system manuals.
- Provide support for system upgrades, retrofits and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Train maintenance staff and operators on PLC‑based equipment and controls.
- Participate in FAT/SAT onsite testing and field service visits as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor s Degree or Diploma in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation / Mechatronics / Automation Engineering.
- 3 6 years of hands‑on experience in PLC programming and industrial automation.
- Certification in PLC programming or automation systems is a plus.
Key Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of PLC platforms: Siemens (S7‑300/400/1200/1500), Allen‑Bradley (RSLogix 5000), Mitsubishi, Schneider etc.
- Proficiency in HMI/SCADA configuration tools (e.g. WinCC, FactoryTalk, iFIX, Wonderware).
- Familiarity with communication protocols: Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, OPC.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and P&AID diagrams.
- Strong problem‑solving, debugging and analytical skills.
- Understanding of control panel design and instrumentation.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
