Job summary

Revolut is seeking a Platform Engineer to contribute to our core backend systems across the event store and transactional infrastructure. You will impact multiple teams and help shape the architecture at scale.

The role demands deep backend experience, proficiency in Java and other languages, and a strong track record as part of distributed, high-volume systems. Fluency in English is required, and fintech experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend engineering experience.
• A bachelor's degree in computer science, maths, physics, or similar field.
• Production fluency in Java, or expertise in another backend language (Kotlin, Scala, Python, Go etc) and a readiness to work primarily in Java.
• A track record of building core systems or foundational platforms that other engineers built on top of.
• Distributed systems experience at a meaningful scale.
• The ability to work well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Fluency in English.

• Building and scaling our core systems.
• Writing high-throughput, concurrent code at production scale.
• Working on problems that affect multiple teams across Engineering.
• Reviewing code and helping other engineers with system design.
