Job summary

Deyaar Development seeks a Planning Manager to lead planning across all phases of project development, setting milestones and targets for design, procurement, and construction, and coordinating with functions to align strategy and forecasts.

You will develop master development plans, track milestones, alert on delays, review claims, manage changes, and ensure consistent planning standards across projects. A strong background in real estate development and PMP/RMP is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
  • Strong expertise in developing master development plans and schedules.
  • Experience with reporting, scheduling, and project controls.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and document master development plans covering project initiation, launches, procurement, design, NOCs, construction, and handover.
  • Consolidate and issue executive reports, trend charts, and schedule analyses; submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
  • Track development programmes against milestones and provide alerts on delays with mitigation actions.
  • Analyze progress, assess impacts, and review vendor claims and EOT requests using scheduling methods.
  • Maintain change logs and manage scope, schedules, and resources; develop guidelines for reporting and controls.
  • Review baseline programmes for scheduling risks and ensure consistency across projects.
  • Oversee multiple packages and develop strategies to optimize delivery.
  • Participate in management reviews and provide status updates to leadership.
  • Provide guidance and training to project teams to promote best practices in planning.

Job description

Planning Manager will lead planning function across all phases of project development from initiation phase, setting key development milestones and targets for design, procurement and construction stages up till successful project completion, and coordinating with different functions to ensure alignment of development strategy and forecasts.

Role & responsibilities:
  • Develop and document master development plans covering project initiation, project launches, procurement, design development, NOCs, construction, and handover stages.
  • Consolidate, prepare, and issue project executive reports, departmental reports, trend charts, and schedule analyses across the design and construction portfolio. Submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports in line with established templates.
  • Track development programmes against approved milestones and provide proactive alerts on potential delays or early warning indicators. Escalate findings and recommend mitigation actions to the CDO and project teams.
  • Analyze project progress, conduct impact assessments, and review vendor claims and extension-of-time requests using planning and scheduling methodologies. Highlight potential cost and schedule implications to the CDO, functional heads, and commercial team.
  • Maintain change logs and manage changes related to project scope, schedules, and resource allocation.
  • Review existing processes and establish guidelines for reporting, scheduling management, and project controls. Ensure consistency in scheduling standards and reporting requirements across all projects.
  • Review consultants’ and contractors’ baseline programmes to identify scheduling risks, excessive float, employer exposures, and unrealistic activity relationships.
  • Oversee multiple project packages simultaneously and develop packaging strategies to optimize project delivery, streamline processes, and achieve interim project targets.
  • Participate in project management review meetings and provide project status updates to the CDO and functional heads.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to project teams, fostering accountability and ownership of project targets while promoting best practices in planning and scheduling.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management, contributing to the overall success of the department and the organization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 10-15 Years of total experience, preferably within Real Estate Development industry.
  • Experience in strategizing and delivering mixed-use masterplan developments, horizontal and high-rise buildings in various Jurisdictions within UAE.
  • Post-graduate studies, or relevant certifications (PMP/RMP) are preferrable
