Job summary

BeWunder is seeking a German-speaking Planning Engineer to lead detailed project plans for our Middle East and Europe portfolios. You will develop WBS, schedules, resource plans and risk registers, and use Primavera P6 and MS Project to keep projects on track while coordinating with clients, contractors and internal teams.

The role requires UAE experience, a construction management engineering degree, and strong Excel skills, with a proactive approach to delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering Construction Management or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of Planning Engineer/Manager experience in construction project management.
• Native or bilingual German proficiency.
• Experience in UAE with strong market knowledge.
• Advanced Excel and MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans including work breakdown structures (WBS), activity lists, schedules and resource allocation plans considering objectives, timelines and budgets.
• Schedule Management: Create, update and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6 and MS Project; identify critical paths and bottlenecks.
• Resource Allocation: Coordinate with project teams to allocate manpower, equipment, materials and subcontractors to meet requirements while minimizing costs.
• Progress Tracking: Monitor progress and KPIs; identify deviations and risks and develop mitigation strategies to stay on track.
• Claim Preparation: Prepare robust Extension of Time claims using Impacted as Planned and Time Impact Analysis methods.
• Risk Management: Identify risks and mitigation measures to minimize disruptions.
• Communication and Collaboration: Engage with clients, contractors, vendors and internal teams; facilitate meetings and reporting.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain schedules, progress reports, change orders and risk registers; generate stakeholder reports.
• Continuous Improvement: Analyze performance data to identify process improvements and implement best practices.

Your profile

• 5 years of experience as a Planning Engineer/Manager or in a similar role within construction project management.
• Native or bilingual proficiency in German.
• UAE experience and in-depth market knowledge.
• A Bachelors degree in Engineering Construction Management or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in project management software including Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project (essential).
• Advanced skills in MS Office particularly Excel.
• Excellent communication presentation and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with the Audio Visual and Lighting industry.
• Strong attention to detail organisational skills and a proactive approach to project planning and execution.

The primary scope will include:

• - Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans including work breakdown structures (WBS) activity lists schedules and resource allocation plans considering project objectives timelines and budget constraints.

• - Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate with project stakeholders including clients contractors vendors and internal teams to communicate project plans progress updates and changes effectively. Facilitate regular meetings reviews and reporting to ensure alignment and transparency.
• - Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation including schedules progress reports change orders and risk registers. Generate regular reports and presentations for project stakeholders to provide insights into project status performance and forecasts.
• - Continuous Improvement: Analyse project performance data and lessons learned to identify opportunities for process improvement efficiency gains and best practices implementation. Implement feedback mechanisms to enhance future project planning and execution.
