Job summary

Egis Group is seeking a qualified Planning Engineer to manage large-scale port construction projects in Abu Dhabi. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and a minimum of 7 years in the discipline, including at least 5 years in the proposed role on similar UAE projects.

  • 7+ years of engineering experience with at least 5 years in planning on large port projects in UAE.
  • Port construction project experience required; familiarity with Abu Dhabi procedures and standards is essential.
  • Excellent communication and ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and authorities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, update and monitor detailed project schedules covering mobilization to handover using Primavera P6 and MS Project as needed.
  • Prepare cost-loaded and resource-loaded programs; manage change logs, KPIs, EOTs and progress tracking.
  • Coordinate with site engineers, procurement and subcontractors to align with baselines and identify risks with mitigation plans.

Job description

We are looking for a qualified and experiencedPlanning Engineerto manage large scale Project mainlyPort Construction Projectsin Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate must havebachelors degree in engineeringwith minimum of 7 years of experience in their discipline with at least 5 years acting in the proposed role on similar projects of similar size and complexity in UAE. Must have been involved in at least 2 Projects within the Emirates of Abu Dhabi in the last 5 years. Must have good English language skillsand have a strong working knowledge ofAbu DhabiAuthorities procedures and standards. The Planning Engineer will be responsible for preparing project schedules and reports mitigation and/ or revised schedulestracking progress coordinating with stakeholders and ensuring timely delivery in compliance with client and authority requirements and etc.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop update and monitor detailedproject schedulesusing Primavera P6 as must skills and MS Project as additional skills covering all construction phases from mobilization to handover.
  • Full planning skills in preparationCost loaded Program Resource loaded Program Change Log KPI EOTs.
  • Coordinate with site engineers procurement and subcontractors to ensure alignment with the baseline schedule as well as to identify any major risks along with action plan in line with management directions.
  • Preparelook-ahead programs progress reports Mitigation plans crushed plans and recovery plansin case of delays.
  • Conduct regularsite visits and any required visitsto verify actual progress against planned timelines in Abu Dhabi.
  • Integrate project milestones and deliverables withAuthorities NOCs approval processestraffic diversion programs and authority permits.
  • Analyze critical path float and resource allocationto optimize project timelines.
  • Participate inproject progress meetings and provide presentations updatesto management and client representatives.
  • Strong experience indelay analysis(Time Impact Analysis Window Analysis)andcontractual correspondence.
  • Ensure compliance withproject planning guidelinesand coordinate closely with project control teams.
  • Maintain and update project documentation schedules and reports in coordination with document control.

Qualifications
  • Must have experience in Portconstruction projects.
  • Bachelors degree Engineerwith minimum of 7years of experience in their discipline with at least 5 years acting in the proposed role on similar projects of similar size and complexity in the UAE. Must have been involved in at least 2 Projects within the Emirates of Abu Dhabi in the last 5 years.
  • Proven experience working withsimilar projects familiar with their procedures submittals and reporting formats and etc.
  • Advanced knowledge ofPrimavera P6MS Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies sequencing and project workflows.
  • Excellent analytical organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Must have good English language skills

Essential Experience
  • 57 yearsof planning and project controls experience in construction.
  • Proven experience withmarine ports harbours jetties quays breakwaters anddredging.
  • Experience preparing and managing:
    • Baseline Programmes
    • Recovery Programmes
    • Revised Programmes
    • Monthly Programme Updates
    • Resource and Cost Loaded Schedule
    • Experience preparing planning reports S-curves productivity analysis and KPIs.
  • Experience coordinating with clients consultants subcontractors and project management teams.
Technical Knowledge
  • Marine construction methodology including:
    • Piling works
    • Pontoon installation
    • Marine structures
    • Floating equipment and barges
    • Heavy lifting operations
  • Understanding of temporary works and marine logistics.
Contractual Knowledge
  • FIDIC Contracts.
  • Claims.
  • Progress measurement and earned value management.
Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors degree in civil engineering or construction management.

  • PMP certification (preferred).
  • Primavera P6 Professional Certification.
  • Experience in UAE projects particularly withAD PortsDP Worldor similar clients.
