Wood in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Piping Supervisor to oversee fabrication shop activities, ensuring adherence to ADNOC standards, project specs, and approved procedures. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality spools safely and on schedule.

The role requires a Diploma/degree in mechanical engineering with 10+ years in piping fabrication, including 5+ years in supervision, and strong knowledge of ASME/API codes and NDT requirements.

Qualifications

Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 10 years of piping fabrication experience with 5+ years in supervision.
Proven ADNOC project experience or similar Middle East EPC/EPCM projects.
Strong knowledge of piping fabrication processes, welding, NDT, and ASME/API codes.
Ability to read piping isometrics, GA drawings, and P&IDs.
Leadership to manage a multicultural workforce in a high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities

Supervise day-to-day piping fabrication activities in the shop.
Ensure works comply with drawings, WPS, ITPs, and ADNOC specs.
Coordinate with engineering, QA/QC, and planning for smooth workflow.
Monitor productivity and optimize resources (manpower, materials, equipment).
Ensure material availability and adherence to HSE standards.
Review drawings for constructability and coordinate inspections.
Report progress to Construction/Project Management and maintain records.

Job Objective

To supervise and coordinate all piping fabrication activities within the fabrication shop, ensuring compliance with ADNOC standards, project specifications, and approved procedures. The role is responsible for delivering high-quality fabrication works safely, on schedule, and in alignment with EPCM execution requirements.

Responsibilities

Supervise day-to-day piping fabrication activities including cutting, fit-up, welding, and assembly in the fabrication shop.

Ensure all fabrication works are executed in accordance with approved drawings (isometrics), WPS, ITPs, and ADNOC project specifications.

Coordinate closely with engineering, QA/QC, and planning teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely resolution of technical queries.

Monitor productivity and optimize resource utilization (manpower, materials, and equipment).

Ensure availability of materials, tools, and consumables to avoid delays in fabrication activities.

Enforce strict adherence to HSE policies and ADNOC safety standards within the fabrication shop.

Review fabrication drawings and identify potential constructability issues prior to execution.

Coordinate with QA/QC inspectors for stage inspections, weld inspections, and final acceptance.

Track fabrication progress and report daily/weekly status to Construction/Project Management.

Ensure proper identification, traceability, and handling of piping materials in line with project requirements.

Supervise subcontractors (if applicable) and ensure compliance with contractual and technical requirements.

Support pre-commissioning activities by ensuring fabricated spools meet quality and documentation requirements.

Maintain records of fabrication activities, weld maps, and production reports.

Expected:

Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.

Minimum 10 years of experience in piping fabrication, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.

Proven experience working on ADNOC projects or similar Middle East oil & gas EPC/EPCM projects.

Strong knowledge of piping fabrication processes, welding techniques, NDT requirements, and international codes (ASME, API).

Familiarity with ADNOC standards, specifications, and HSE requirements.

Ability to read and interpret piping isometrics, GA drawings, and P&IDs.

Experience in managing fabrication shop operations, workforce supervision, and productivity control.

Good coordination and communication skills with multi-disciplinary teams.

Strong commitment to safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

Experience with large-scale, multi-billion-dollar EPCM projects.

Knowledge of material control systems and spool tracking.

Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation (MS Office, fabrication tracking systems).

Leadership ability to manage multicultural workforce in a high-pressure environment.
