About the job PIPING LAYOUT ENGINEER
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Piping Layout Engineer to join our engineering team for major onshore/offshore projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the development of piping layouts, equipment layouts, and 3D modeling to ensure functional, safe, and cost‑effective design solutions in compliance with project specifications, industry codes, and client standards.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and review piping and equipment layout drawings using 2D and 3D design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, PDS, PDMS, SP3D, E3D).
- Create and check: General arrangement (GA) drawings, Plot plans and equipment layouts, Piping isometrics, Nozzle orientation drawings, Tie‑in and interface layouts.
- Ensure proper routing of piping systems, with attention to accessibility, maintenance, stress, and safety considerations.
- Coordinate closely with process, mechanical, structural, instrumentation, and electrical disciplines to optimize plant layout.
- Support in 3D model reviews (30%, 60%, 90%) and implement review comments.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, client standards (e.g., ADNOC, Aramco), and international design codes (ASME, API, etc.).
- Identify and resolve clashes in piping routing using 3D model clash detection tools.
- Prepare MTO (Material Take‑Offs) and support procurement with layout‑related inputs.
- Participate in field/site visits as needed for tie‑in verification and constructability review.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma / Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical discipline.
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in piping layout engineering within oil & gas, petrochemical, or refinery projects.
- Strong hands‑on experience with SP3D, PDMS, E3D, or similar 3D modeling software.
- Good knowledge of piping materials, valve specifications, and support requirements.
- Familiarity with international standards such as ASME B31.3, API, ISO, and company‑specific piping specifications.
- Experience working with ADNOC or other major clients (e.g., Aramco, Shell, Total) is an advantage.
- Strong coordination, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
