Job summary

NMDC in United Arab Emirates is seeking an experienced piping supervisor to lead pipefitters and welders on marine vessel piping projects. You will interpret P&IDs and ensure installation aligns with approved drawings, standards, and class requirements.

Responsibilities include planning daily activities, coordinating with Engineering, QA/QC, and Commissioning, and enforcing strict HSE practices on site. You will mentor the workforce to achieve first-time quality and timely completion.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising pipefitters and welders on marine piping projects.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs and isometric drawings.
• Knowledge of HSE policies and safe work practices.

Job description

• Supervise and coordinate pipefitters, welders, riggers, and helpers engaged in the fabrication, installation, modification, and repair of marine vessel piping systems.
• Plan daily work activities, allocate manpower, materials, tools, and equipment to meet project schedules and production targets.
• Interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, GA drawings, and piping layouts to ensure accurate fabrication and installation.
• Ensure piping systems are installed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, class society requirements, and applicable international standards.
• Coordinate with Engineering, QA/QC, Production, Mechanical, and Commissioning teams to resolve technical and construction issues.
• Monitor fit-up, welding, alignment, hydrostatic testing, flushing, and reinstatement activities to ensure quality workmanship.
• Enforce HSE policies, conduct toolbox talks, and ensure safe lifting, rigging, confined space, and hot work practices at site.
• Inspect work progress, identify defects or deviations, and implement corrective actions to achieve first-time quality.
• Maintain daily progress reports, manpower records, material utilization, and ensure timely completion of assigned work packages.
• Train, mentor, and motivate the piping workforce while promoting productivity, housekeeping, and continuous improvement throughout marine construction activities
