Job Purpose
To deliver high-quality Physics instruction that supports students in developing strong conceptual understanding, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills. The tutor will prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations (e.g., GCSE, A-Level, IB, or equivalent), ensuring measurable academic progress and fostering a passion for science.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Physics lessons aligned with the relevant curriculum (e.g., GCSE, A-Level, IB, or school-specific syllabus).
- Diagnose individual learning needs and tailor instruction accordingly to ensure all students meet or exceed academic targets.
- Provide regular formative and summative assessments; give detailed feedback to support improvement.
- Prepare students for examinations through targeted revision sessions, practice papers, and exam technique coaching.
- Integrate digital tools, simulations, and practical demonstrations to enhance understanding of theoretical concepts.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, student progress, and performance data.
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and academic coordinators regarding student progress.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that encourages curiosity and confidence in science learning.
- Stay current with curriculum updates, pedagogy, and assessment methods in Physics education.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed, QTS, or equivalent international certification).
- Proven experience teaching or tutoring Physics at secondary or post-secondary level (GCSE / IGCSE / A-Level / IB preferred).
- Strong understanding of physics concepts, practical applications, and experimental design.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas simply.
