SAMCO Rental is a leading equipment and machinery rental company in Al Quoz, Dubai, supporting major construction and industrial projects. We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Petrol Mechanic/Engine Technician to ensure the operational readiness of our light and medium-sized petrol-powered fleet.
This role is critical for the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of gasoline engines, ensuring all equipment is safe, reliable, and available for client rental.
🔧 Roles & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Diagnosis and Repair: Perform accurate diagnosis and complete complex and routine repairs on a variety of petrol (gasoline) engines, primarily found in light to medium rental equipment (e.g., generators, pumps, plate compactors, etc.).
- Preventive Maintenance (PM): Execute routine and scheduled maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tune-ups, filter replacements, and spark plug checks, strictly following manufacturer specifications.
- Troubleshooting: Expertly diagnose and rectify issues related to carburetors, fuel injection systems, ignition systems, and associated electrical components.
- Performance Testing: Thoroughly test all repaired equipment under load to ensure optimal function, reliability, and safety compliance.
- Documentation: Accurately complete and maintain all service records, work orders, repair logs, and parts consumption reports.
- Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to all workshop safety procedures and protocols at all times.
👤 Desired Candidate Profile
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled individual who meets the following criteria:
- Experience & Specialization: A hands-on mechanic with a minimum of 3 years of practical experience specializing in the repair and maintenance of petrol (gasoline) engines (4-stroke and 2-stroke).
- Technical Knowledge: Proven expertise in engine diagnostics, troubleshooting, and general mechanical repairs.
- Qualifications: Must possess a relevant technical qualification or certification in Automotive Technology, Mechanical Maintenance, or a related technical trade.
- Work Ethic: Highly reliable, organized, and capable of performing duties independently within a busy workshop environment.
- Language: Basic proficiency in English (reading technical manuals and communicating with supervisors/team).
- Physical Ability: Must be physically fit and able to handle the demands of a full-time workshop role.
💰 Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: AED 1,500 – AED 1,700 per month (based on experience).

- Engine Diagnosis: Proven ability to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of failures in 4-stroke and 2-stroke gasoline engines (e.g., generators, water pumps, plate compactors).
- System Repair: Expert knowledge in repairing, overhauling, and replacing components of:
- Fuel Systems: Carburetor cleaning, tuning, replacement, and basic knowledge of small engine fuel injection.
- Ignition Systems: Testing and replacement of spark plugs, coils, and magnetos.
- Mechanical Overhaul: Basic top-end engine repairs (gaskets, valves, cylinder heads).

II. Operational & Documentation Skills
- Testing Procedures: Ability to conduct post-repair testing and load testing to ensure equipment operates at peak performance before rental.
- Record Keeping: Basic literacy and ability to accurately fill out job cards, log maintenance work, and record spare parts used.
- Blueprint Reading: Basic ability to read and understand technical manuals, parts diagrams, and simple wiring schematics for troubleshooting.

- Safety Compliance: Deep commitment to workshop safety procedures, including the safe handling of fuels, lubricants, heavy components, and power tools.
- Physical Stamina: Required to be physically fit for lifting heavy parts and working long hours in a non-air-conditioned workshop environment.
