Job summary

NMC GROUP SERVICES. seeks a Lead for patient safety and quality of care to drive regulatory compliance, safety performance, and quality improvement across hospital facilities.

Lead cross-functional teams, educate leadership, support data collection and reporting, and advance policies to optimize patient outcomes and resource utilization.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Hospital/Healthcare Administration or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in healthcare quality management within a hospital setting.
  • Proven experience in incident and risk management systems.
  • Familiarity with digital healthcare tools and software, including HIS and quality management systems.

Job description

Lead patient safety and quality of care initiatives in the facility, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained and regulatory requirements are met.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary contact for regulatory body initiatives on quality, patient safety, and risk management.
  • Collaborate with cluster leaders, department managers, physicians, and staff to envision, develop, and implement systems that improve patient care, clinical outcomes, workflow efficiency, cost effectiveness, and patient satisfaction.
  • Contribute to committees such as the Quality Improvement, Patient Safety Committee, and Higher Management Committee.
  • Educate leadership and staff on regulatory issues, new guidelines, and safety and quality performance improvement activities.
  • Support data collection across the cluster—create forms, validate data, generate reports, and analyze improvements.
  • Promote a culture of safety, high reliability, patient and staff engagement, and performance excellence.
  • Develop and implement a Patient Safety & Quality Improvement Plan, follow up on activities, and orchestrate initiatives at both hospital‐wide and cluster levels.
  • Serve as a resource to departments, divisions, units, and committees on quality assurance.
  • Facilitate cost‑effective resource utilization related to infection control policies and procedures.
  • Prioritize investigation of problem areas based on adverse impact, and develop mechanisms for patient care review and evaluation.
  • Direct implementation and maintenance of technical guidelines and frameworks for quality evaluation.
  • Arrange staff education, variance collection, and analysis with Quality Facilitators.
  • Establish a system‑wide variance database for benchmarking, improvement opportunities, length of stay, and resource management.
  • Provide ongoing assessment and support for continuous quality improvement, risk management, and infrastructure support.
  • Evaluate patient medical records to identify concerns and plan improvements.
  • Communicate findings to committees, departments, and stakeholders.
  • Share best practice models across the system, ensuring outcomes are optimal, cost‑effective, and resource appropriate.
  • Maintain accreditation records, facilitate quality improvement meetings, submit quarterly reports, and approve data for regulatory authorities (DOH, JAWDA KPIs, DHA KPIs, MOH KPIs).
  • Maintain policies, procedures, guidelines, and forms; circulate current documents and de‑circulate expired ones.
  • Provide educational and technical assistance to committees and departments to meet Patient Safety & Quality objectives.
  • Participate in clinical space design, construction, and hygiene activities.
  • Perform administrative responsibilities related to the role.
  • Justify training needs in Continuous Quality Improvement; coordinate or deliver training.
  • Coordinate accreditation compliance activities, mock surveys, and annual evaluations of the QI program.
  • Develop training orientation programs for key members to facilitate system expansion and standardisation.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties requested by the general manager.
  • Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures; optimise reporting of OSH hazards, incidents, near misses, and risk assessments.
  • Coordinate the risk management program with all stakeholders and attend OSH and infection control training sessions, mock drills, and awareness programmes.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Hospital/Healthcare Administration, Management, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in healthcare quality management within a hospital setting.
  • Proven experience in incident and risk management systems.
  • Familiarity with digital healthcare tools and software, including HIS and quality management systems.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams across various facilities.
  • Experience in policy formulation and implementation.
Skills
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical fundamentals, patient safety standards, and performance improvement standards.
  • Proficiency with CQI tools and techniques, data analytics, and advanced Excel or statistical software.
  • Ability to design and deliver training programmes on quality and patient safety.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills for managing diverse stakeholders.
  • High adaptability to evolving technologies and quality trends.
