Job description

We are seeking a creative and passionate Pastry Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods while ensuring consistency, presentation, and adherence to hygiene and safety standards. This role requires innovation, attention to detail and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare and produce a wide variety of pastries, desserts and bakery items.
  • Design and develop new dessert menus and seasonal specials in collaboration with the Executive Chef.
  • Maintain consistency and quality in taste, presentation and quality.
  • Ensure proper storage, handling and rotation of ingredients.
  • Monitor food cost, portion control and minimize wastage.
  • Supervise and train pastry team members providing guidance and motivation.
  • Ensure kitchen hygiene, sanitation and safety standards are strictly followed.
  • Stay updated with pastry trends, techniques and innovations to enhance menu offerings.
  • Collaborate with banquet and restaurant teams to customize dessert menus for special events.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role in a hotel or resort.
  • Formal culinary/pastry training or equivalent certification.
  • Strong creative and artistic skills in pastry and dessert presentation.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards.
  • Ability to lead, train and motivate a team in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings and holidays as required.
