Overview
We are looking for an experienced Foreman Painter with a strong background in surface finishing, detailing, and artistic painting for 3D printed parts, models, and sculptures. The ideal candidate will have both technical skills in painting techniques and an eye for artistic finishes, ensuring high-quality results that meet client expectations for exhibitions, displays, and prototypes.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead a team of painters/finishers in the workshop.
- Prepare 3D printed parts and sculptures for painting (filling, sanding, priming, smoothing).
- Apply paints, coatings, and finishes using spray gun, airbrush, brush, and other methods.
- Mix and match colors accurately to achieve realistic, metallic, matte, or artistic effects.
- Create special finishes such as hyper-realistic, glossy, metallic, aged, or textured surfaces.
- Inspect completed work to ensure precision, quality, and adherence to design references.
- Work closely with designers and engineers to achieve the required artistic vision.
- Manage paint materials, tools, and inventory to ensure efficiency.
- Train and guide team members on advanced finishing and painting techniques.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety standards in the workshop.
Skills
- Minimum [5+] years of experience in painting/finishing, with at least [2+] years in a supervisory or foreman role.
- Proven experience in painting models, sculptures, or artistic objects (preferably in exhibitions, prototyping, or creative industries).
- Strong knowledge of surface preparation techniques for 3D printed parts (sanding, filling, priming).
- Proficiency in spray painting, airbrushing, hand-painting, and special coatings.
- Ability to replicate finishes from reference images (e.g., metallic, wood, stone, realistic textures).
- Strong eye for color, detail, and precision.
- Leadership skills with ability to manage a small team.
- Good communication skills to coordinate with design and production teams.
- Knowledge of safety procedures when handling paints, chemicals, and equipment.
