Job summary

Salt is seeking a hands-on OT Systems Engineer to install and deploy security platforms in customer environments. You will work directly with live OT networks, deploy containerised products using Kubernetes, and drive testing, commissioning and formal handover processes.

The role requires strong Linux skills and experience with FAT/SAT and integration into SIEM tools. You’ll collaborate with OT engineers, infrastructure teams and security stakeholders on diverse deployments.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years hands-on systems engineering, deployment or integration experience.
• Production-level Kubernetes deployment, configuration and troubleshooting.
• Strong Linux server knowledge and issue resolution abilities.
• Experience installing and commissioning platforms in live customer environments.
• FAT, SAT, commissioning and formal handover experience.
• Understanding of servers, networks, storage and data flows.
• Experience integrating security or industrial platforms with SIEM tools.
• Knowledge of OT network architecture and IT/OT convergence.

OT Systems Engineer - OT Security Platforms

We are supporting a growing technology company in hiring a hands‑on OT Systems Engineer to install and deploy security platforms within customer-controlled environments.

This is an engineering position rather than a traditional IT support or consultancy role. You will work directly with customer infrastructure, deploy containerised products using Kubernetes, solve technical issues at systems level and take implementations through testing, commissioning and formal handover.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and deploy OT security and AI-driven platforms within customer server environments.
• Deploy, configure and troubleshoot containerised applications using Kubernetes.
• Own deployments from initial installation through integration, FAT, SAT, commissioning and client handover.
• Diagnose and resolve Linux, Kubernetes, server, network and platform-related issues onsite.
• Integrate platforms with OT data sources, network infrastructure, SIEM platforms, data historians and existing security tools.
• Configure passive OT asset-discovery and network-monitoring solutions.
• Validate data accuracy, completeness and integrity before progressing through deployment stages.
• Work directly with customer OT engineers, infrastructure teams and security stakeholders.
• Translate customer requirements into practical deployment plans.
• Produce clear technical documentation, including deployment documents, test plans, commissioning records, runbooks and as-built documentation.
• Support presales teams by translating technical requirements into accurate proposals and implementation documentation.
• Identify technical risks, integration blockers and scope changes.
• Manage multiple customer deployments while maintaining consistent technical standards.

Required experience

• Approximately 5–7 years of hands‑on systems engineering, platform deployment or infrastructure‑integration experience.
• Practical, production‑level Kubernetes experience, including deploying, configuring and troubleshooting containerised applications.
• Strong Linux systems knowledge and the ability to resolve complex server-level issues.
• Experience installing and commissioning technology platforms within live customer environments.
• Experience with FAT, SAT, commissioning and formal technical handover.
• Understanding of servers, networking, storage, containerised environments, system integrations and data flows.
• Experience integrating security, monitoring or industrial platforms with SIEM solutions; Splunk experience would be valuable.
• Knowledge of OT network architecture, segmentation, DMZs, the Purdue Model and IT/OT convergence.
• Exposure to industrial protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850, OPC-UA or Profinet.
• Ability to produce clear and accurate technical, deployment and handover documentation.

The right person

You will be a hands‑on engineer and problem‑solver who is comfortable working directly with Linux servers and Kubernetes environments.

You should be able to independently install a product, troubleshoot issues across the infrastructure and application stack and take responsibility for delivery through to customer acceptance.

You must also be adaptable, commercially aware and willing to contribute wherever required within a growing, all‑hands‑on‑deck business.
