Job summary

A healthcare provider in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Optometrist to deliver general optometry care. The candidate will perform comprehensive eye examinations and play a key role in maintaining the quality of care. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Optometry, a minimum of two years' experience, and relevant licensure to practice in Abu Dhabi. Fluency in English is essential, with Arabic being a plus.

Qualifications

  • Currently licensed in country of origin with DOH license to practice in Abu Dhabi.
  • Arabic language skills are desirable.

Responsibilities

Job Description

The Optometrist primarily responsible is to provide general optometry care for the patients of NMCSH, Abu Dhabi, in addition, the Optometrist may be directed by the Medical Director, or the Head of the Department to do other related duties.

Responsibilities
  1. Assume quality of care for all patients.
    1. Adheres to the highest standards of practice, ethics, and professionalism at all times.
    2. Perform complete eye examination, contact lens fittings and necessary.
    3. Participate in the control of and supervision of optometry practice and dispensary in conjunction with the Medical Director and Head of the Department.
    4. Keep current with new techniques and philosophies related to all aspects of optometry field.
    5. Participate in quality assurance committee meetings provider meetings, and general staff meetings.
    6. Assist the Head of the Department in establishing medical polices, quality improvement procedures, evaluating current practices, policies and procedures.
    7. Maintains current knowledge of operation procedures and maintenance of new equipment.
Qualifications
  1. A graduate of Bachelors of Science in Optometry or its equivalent (diploma).
    1. At least two (2) years of experience.
    2. Currently licensed in country of origin and with DOH license to practice in Abu Dhabi UAE.
    3. Fluent in spoken & written English, Arabic language is desirable, but not essential.
