Job summary

Novomed Dubai is hiring an Operating Theatre Nurse to provide safe perioperative care for plastic, general, and orthopedic surgeries.

You will prepare theatres and instruments, assist as scrub/circulating nurse, maintain sterile technique, and verify patient identity and consent.

Qualified candidates hold a nursing diploma or degree, a valid DHA licence, and prior operating theatre experience in a surgical clinic or hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
• Valid DHA licence.
• Operating theatre experience in a surgical clinic or day surgery centre or hospitals.
• Demonstrated experience in plastic surgery, general surgery, and orthopedic procedures.
• Knowledge of surgical instruments, aseptic techniques, infection control, and perioperative patient care.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating theatre, surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies before procedures.
• Assist surgeons as a scrub nurse and/or circulating nurse during surgical procedures.
• Maintain sterile techniques, infection control standards, and patient safety protocols.
• Verify patient identity, surgical consent, and preoperative documentation.
• Perform and document surgical instrument, needle, and sponge counts.
• Assist with plastic surgery, general surgery, and orthopedic procedures.
• Ensure proper patient positioning, handling of surgical specimens, and implant management where applicable.
• Provide safe patient transfer and handover to the recovery team.
• Maintain accurate nursing records and ensure proper cleaning and preparation of the operating theatre.
• Comply with facility policies, professional nursing standards, and applicable health authority regulations.
