Job summary

Immensa is seeking a Data Capture Engineer to capture all data and features of spare parts for reverse engineering into 3D CAD models and 2D drawings. You will operate our part identification, scanning and annotation stations in facilities and at client sites.

You will report to the DC Manager/Team Leader and work with the design team to produce final CAD models and drawings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Knowledge of reverse engineering and CAD design of functional components.
• Knowledge of dimensional measurement and drafting 2D manufacturing engineering drawings.
• Experience with engineering and modelling software.
• Problem-solving skills to counter issues in advance.
• Organized and detail-oriented.
• Self-motivated and able to take direction from multiple sources.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment with deadlines.
• Experience with inspection software.

Responsibilities

• Capture all data and features of parts to reverse engineer them and create the 3D CAD model and 2D drawings.
• Operate part identification, scanning and annotation stations.
• Operate Data Capturing Units per Immensa Standards of Practice.
• Capture all data, dimensions and features of mechanical components to generate final CAD model and drawings.
• Operate and maintain scanning technologies with appropriate techniques for different part types.
• Identify material, hardness and thread types of components.
• Create annotation files highlighting required features.
• Conduct final inspection of captured data before release to design team.
• Work with data management platforms to ensure structured data handling and archiving.
• Work with inspection software.
• Report concerns to supervisor promptly.
• Operate in remote areas and client locations.
• Assist the design team when required.
• Create CAD model and 2D drawings of spare parts.
