Job summary

Khawr Fakkan, United Arab Emirates-based PPOAR is seeking a Carpenter to join our on-site team. The role requires basic carpentry skills, ability to read plans, and physical fitness for lifting up to 50 lbs. You will measure, cut, assemble, install shelves or doors, and contribute to building or renovating projects. Immigrant-hiring is considered; minimal experience accepted.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of carpentry tools and techniques.
• Ability to read plans/drawings and execute them accurately.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on site.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Measure and mark cutting lines on materials using a ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge.
• Cut materials to size needed using saws and other power tools.
• Assemble wood pieces with nails, screws, staples or glue.
• Choose the type of wood or other materials for each job based on budget and availability.
• Fit wooden structures together using dowels or other joining techniques.
• Sand down rough surfaces of wood pieces and treat them with sealants or oils for protection from weathering or decay.
• Install finished products such as shelves, cabinets, doors and windows in the desired locations.
