Job description

We are seeking an experienced Piping Engineer to join our Abu Dhabi-based design team for a high-profile offshore oil and gas project in the Middle East. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in the design and execution of offshore piping systems with a focus on Detailed Engineering. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on a technically challenging and strategically important project within a dynamic multicultural engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and review piping design deliverables including PFDs P&IDs piping layouts isometrics and material specifications in accordance with project standards.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes (ASME API ANSI etc.) client requirements and international standards.
  • Perform pipe stress analysis using tools such as CAESAR II and coordinate with structural and mechanical teams for resolution of interface issues.
  • Prepare technical specifications for piping components valves supports and specialty items.
  • Liaise with procurement and construction teams to ensure deliverability and constructability of designs.
  • Conduct site surveys and interface meetings as required to support offshore design validation.
  • Participate in design reviews (e.g. HAZOP model reviews) and incorporate comments/resolutions into final deliverables.
  • Support the development of material take-offs (MTOs) weight control estimates and piping class specifications.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support technical troubleshooting during the design phase.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 8-12 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas sector with a significant focus on offshore projects.
  • Proven track record in Detailed Engineering for offshore piping systems.
  • Proficiency in piping design software tools such as AutoCAD Plant 3D SmartPlant PDMS/E3D and CAESAR II.
  • Strong understanding of offshore codes and standards (e.g. DNV ISO API).
  • Experience with FEED and EPC phases is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication coordination and problem-solving skills.
  • Prior experience working in or with engineering teams in the Middle East is preferred.
  • Professional Engineering License (PE or equivalent)
  • Offshore Survival (BOSIET) beneficial but not mandatory
  • Project Management or Technical Training Certifications a plus
