Job summary

UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) is seeking a qualified professional for Simulator Training responsibilities in Abu Dhabi. The role covers operating as pilot during ATC simulator exercises, data processing, and supporting simulator exercises with clear communication across units.

You will also contribute to training readiness, software testing, documentation upkeep, and administrative support for ATS training staff, with emphasis on safety, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Enact pilot's role during exercises in the ATC simulator.
• Act as Flight Data Processor during simulator exercises.
• Act as simulator exercise support by communicating as external/internal units.
• Perform OJT of new pseudo pilots.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of PANS ATM, ICAO docs, Emirates AIP, UAE ACC instructions.
• Undergo periodic competency checks for simulator duties.
• Participate in testing, configuration and commissioning of simulator equipment and software.
• Assist in keeping TRN data and documentation up to date.
• Maintain operational knowledge of equipment and systems used for ATS in the UAE FIR.
• Report any simulator-impacting occurrences to ATSIs.
• Assist ATSIs in collating data and preparing exercises for the simulator.
• Complete progress reports on trainee PPs and discuss with trainees and management.
• Provide administrative support to Senior ATSIs.

Simulator Training

• Enact pilot's role during exercises in the ATC simulator

Technical Competency

• Maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of relevant parts of PANS ATM and ICAO documents, Emirates AIP and local ATC instructions of the UAE ACC
• Undergo periodic competency checking in handling of simulator duties.

Training equipment readiness

• Participate in testing, configuration and commissioning of relevant equipment and software relating to the simulator and its upgrades as and when needed.
• Assist in keeping all relevant TRN data and documentation up to date.
• Maintain a through operational knowledge and understanding of the equipment and systems used for the provision of ATS in the UAE FIR.
• Bring to the attention of ATSIs any occurrence or system failure that will affect the simulator.

Training Administrative support

• Assist ATSIs in collating data and preparing exercises for the simulator.
• Complete progress reports on trainee PPs and discuss the contents with the trainees, other OJTIs and management
• Provide administrative support to Senior ATSIs
