A Night Auditor ensures the hotel maintains professional financial standards by managing end-of-day reports, ensuring accuracy, and reporting anomalies.

What will I be doing

As a Night Auditor, your responsibilities include maintaining financial standards through managing end-of-day reports, verifying transactions, and ensuring accuracy. Specific duties include:

1. Reviewing Night Auditor's Logbook for instructions from the Income Auditor
2. Verifying approvals for complimentary rooms, late checkouts, and day-use room charges
3. Printing and supporting business call journals with authorization vouchers for long-distance calls and faxes
4. Verifying guest ledger charges with concessionaires
5. Checking room rate variance reports and posting room and tax charges
6. Printing revenue reports and splitting service charges and taxes
7. Reconciling reports with supporting vouchers
8. Exporting POS revenue data and performing pre-audit backups
9. Maintaining daily revenue reports and ensuring financial standards
10. Reviewing end-of-day takings against logged reports and investigating discrepancies
11. Training night staff on systems and procedures
12. Assisting the Night Manager during emergencies
