Job summary

Linked4HR seeks a Network Security Engineer for a 6-month contract in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role focuses on monitoring and defending enterprise networks, NGFWs, SIEM, and cloud security across Azure, AWS, and Oracle environments.

You will configure and troubleshoot firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA), perform incident response, vulnerability management, and maintain security documentation. A Bachelor’s in CS/IT or related field and Security+ or equivalent certs are required.

Qualifications

• Must have CompTIA Security+ or equivalent cybersecurity certification.
• Accepted equivalents include CEH, CCNA Security, Fortinet NSE 4, Palo Alto PCNSE.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain network security infrastructure (firewalls, SIEM, IPS/IDS, WAF, DLP, and endpoint security).
• Analyze network traffic and logs to identify threats and incidents.

Job Description / Role:

We are hiring a Network Security Engineer for an urgent 6-month contract opportunity with a leading organization in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and maintain network security infrastructure, including firewalls, SIEM, IPS/IDS, WAF, DLP and endpoint security solutions
• Analyse network traffic, security logs and alerts to identify threats, anomalies and potential security incidents
• Configure, troubleshoot and maintain Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW) such as Palo Alto, Cisco ASA and Fortinet
• Support firewall rules, access controls and Network Access Control (NAC)
• Monitor and respond to security incidents, including investigation, escalation and documentation
• Support vulnerability scanning, assessment, remediation tracking and reporting
• Monitor security across Azure, AWS and Oracle Cloud environments
• Support DNS, email, web and DDoS security monitoring and threat mitigation
• Perform security system updates, patching and maintenance
• Maintain security documentation, incident records, configurations and compliance reports
• Collaborate with Network Operations, IT, Incident Response teams and external security vendors
• Support compliance with GCAA, EASA, ICAO and ISO 27001 requirements

Experience Required:

• Minimum 3 years of network security experience
• Strong incident response and network traffic analysis experience
• Experience with security monitoring/SOC environments
• Aviation industry experience is an advantage

Education Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Security or a related discipline.
• MUST HAVE a completed CompTIA Security+ or equivalent recognized cybersecurity/network security certification
• Accepted equivalent certifications include CEH, CCNA Security, Fortinet NSE 4, Palo Alto PCNSE or equivalent

Skills Required:

• Hands-on experience with firewalls — Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA or equivalent
• Experience with SIEM platforms such as Rapid7, LogRhythm, QRadar or equivalent
• Experience with IDS/IPS, WAF, DLP, NAC and EDR
• Vulnerability management experience using tools such as Rapid7/Nessus
• Experience with Azure, AWS or Oracle Cloud security
• Knowledge of DNS, email and web security
• Scripting knowledge in PowerShell, Bash or Python
