Job summary

Talentspoc in Dubai, UAE is seeking an experienced Neonatologist to join our leading healthcare facility. You will provide comprehensive care to newborns, including premature and high-risk infants, in NICU and high-dependency units.

Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and surgeons to deliver safe, family-centered neonatal care. The role includes resuscitation, respiratory support management, and guiding parents through treatment plans and follow-up

Qualifications

  • MBBS or MD and recognized neonatal qualification.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Neonatology / Pediatrics with neonatal specialization.
  • Significant clinical experience in NICU and high-risk newborn care.
  • Strong neonatal critical care knowledge and respiratory support.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive medical care to newborns and critically ill neonates.
  • Assess and manage premature and high-risk newborns needing specialized care.
  • Care for babies in NICU and neonatal high-dependency units.
  • Manage neonatal respiratory distress, sepsis, jaundice, feeding issues.

Job description

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Neonatologist / Neonatal Medicine Specialist to join our leading healthcare facility in the UAE.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in the care of newborns, premature infants, critically ill neonates, and high-risk babies, with a commitment to providing safe, evidence-based, and family-centered neonatal care.

The successful candidate will work closely with obstetricians, pediatricians, neonatal nurses, respiratory therapists, pediatric surgeons, radiologists, and other members of the multidisciplinary neonatal team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive medical care to newborns and critically ill neonates.
  • Assess and manage premature and high-risk newborns requiring specialized neonatal care.
  • Provide care for babies admitted to the NICU and neonatal high-dependency units.
  • Manage neonatal respiratory distress, apnea, sepsis, jaundice, feeding difficulties, and other neonatal conditions.
  • Provide appropriate neonatal resuscitation and stabilization of critically ill newborns.
  • Manage infants requiring respiratory support, including non-invasive and invasive ventilation where appropriately trained.
  • Assess and manage newborns with low birth weight, prematurity, and complications associated with early birth.
  • Manage neonatal infections, metabolic disorders, hypoglycemia, electrolyte abnormalities, and other medical conditions.
  • Monitor growth, nutrition, fluid balance, and developmental progress of premature and critically ill infants.
  • Review and interpret laboratory investigations, blood gases, X-rays, ultrasound, and other neonatal diagnostic studies.
  • Coordinate care for newborns with congenital abnormalities and arrange appropriate specialist referrals.
  • Work closely with pediatric surgeons and other specialists for neonates requiring surgical intervention.
  • Provide appropriate management of neonatal emergencies and clinical deterioration.
  • Participate in delivery-room attendance for high-risk deliveries and provide immediate newborn stabilization when required.
  • Provide guidance and counseling to parents regarding the babys condition, treatment plan, prognosis, and follow-up care.
  • Support breastfeeding, appropriate neonatal nutrition, and developmental care.
  • Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and confidential neonatal medical records.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary NICU rounds, case discussions, clinical audits, quality improvement, and patient-safety initiatives.
Requirements
  • MBBS, MD, or equivalent recognized medical qualification.
  • Recognized postgraduate qualification in Neonatology, Neonatal Medicine, Pediatrics / Paediatrics with appropriate neonatal specialization, or an equivalent recognized specialty.
  • Relevant post-specialization clinical experience.
  • Strong experience in NICU and high-risk newborn care.
  • Good knowledge of neonatal critical care and modern respiratory support.
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage neonatal emergencies and critically ill infants.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate and family-centered approach.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary neonatal team.
