Global Markets IT – Front Office squad team

Reports To: GM IT FO Squad Lead

Murex Front Office Business Analyst
Purpose of Job

The Murex FO Business Analyst will be part of the GM IT FO Squad responsible for providing IT services to the Global Markets team. The squad handles support, change requests and projects related to Global Markets. Key responsibilities include engaging with the business, conducting analysis, developing requirements, reviewing technical and functional design, building and testing solutions, and ensuring proper closure of initiatives through end‑to‑end ownership.

Tasks
  • Analysis & Documentation of user requirements and transposition into Functional Specifications
  • Act as key liaison with Global Markets teams (business and supporting functions), IT teams, and vendors
  • Participate actively in discussions with business, understand their needs and transform them into change or project initiatives
  • Define system and data requirements and validate system designs and processes from functional and technical aspects
  • Develop and refine business/functional/testing requirements in support of projects and systems, working alongside vendors when needed
  • Configure the solution as per requirements
  • Act as the subject matter expert for the Murex suite of tools used within Front Office and ensure all functionality is fully leveraged within the group
  • Create test plans, test cases, and execute system testing
  • Contribute to user training activities, including one‑to‑one discussions, preparation of training guides and presentations
  • Follow up with vendor support as necessary to resolve bugs/issues
  • Ensure technical and functional hand‑over of projects and changes to the relevant teams
  • Assist in developing business and operational processes and contribute to system training artefacts
Job Knowledge & Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Murex Front Office Business Analyst
  • Extensive experience setting up and validating interest rate curves, including for ARRs
  • Expertise in at least two of the following asset classes: IR vanilla and exotic derivatives, equity derivatives, commodity derivatives, FX derivatives, structured derivatives
  • Deep understanding of pricing, valuation, risk management and sensitivities for exotic products
  • Strong exposure to FO modules of Murex – E‑Tradepad, Simulation, Livebook, RTPM, Structured Bonds Module, Pre‑Trade Workflow, Market Data, Dynamic Tables, P&L Notepad, FDI Templates, Blotters, Risk Matrices, etc.
  • Exposure to Flex API, Pricing API, VaR (MRA/MRB), xVA modules is an added advantage
  • Flex API development skills (debugging and compiling libraries in C++, interfacing with REST APIs, …) is an advantage
  • Experience leading and delivering projects
  • Experience implementing and supporting Murex v3.1 for front‑office capabilities
  • Excellent knowledge of capital markets products and processes from front to back
  • Experience implementing both linear and non‑linear products in Murex
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with excellent communication
Qualifications and Skills
  • Either a postgraduate degree or qualification in Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration
  • Minimum 5‑7 years of relevant work experience in a bank or IT company
  • Strong record of stakeholder management and leadership skills
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, trading and banking solutions
  • Deep knowledge of Global Markets products and practices: pricing, limit checks, booking, risk management, accounting generation, settlements and confirmations
  • Technically astute with relevant exposure to bank systems and processes
  • Proven track record of liaising with stakeholders on business requirements, specification documents, testing processes and related information
  • Strong numerical skills and ability to deliver under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
