Job summary

Bureau Veritas Abu Dhabi is seeking Multidiscipline Inspectors with strong NDT and welding inspection experience. The role requires coordinating with IND/Project teams, selecting techniques, and ensuring compliance with codes and client specifications.

Candidates should hold relevant certifications (CSWIP/NACE/ASNT) and a Mechanical Engineering background, with several years in inspection across various mechanical systems and vessels.

Qualifications

• CSWIP 3.1/3.2 or AWS-CWI or approved equivalent.
• NACE Level-II or BGAS Grade-II.
• ASNT / PCN Level II in RT, UT, MT & PT or approved equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Review applicable contractual requirements and QA plans.
• Define and review Quality Plan and procedures.

Technical knowledge

• Strong knowledge of the International Codes & Standards such as ASME, API, ANSI, ASTM and BS.
• Experience with Welding, NDT, Painting, Piping, Pressure Vessel, Aboveground storage Tanks, Pipeline Inspection according to relevant Codes.
• Application of Codes and standards, project specifications and procedures.

Experience

• Inspector/Technician : Minimum 5 years experience in similar field
• Engineer Surveyor : Minimum 8 years experience in similar field
• Senior Engineer Surveyor : Minimum 10 years experience in similar field

Responsibilities / Authorities / Accountabilities

Primary Functions

• Review of applicable contractual requirements (Technical standards, specifications etc.)
• Definition and review of Quality Plan and relevant procedures.
• Review and validation of inspection assignment documentation (technical aspects, reference documentation, schedule, milestones, reporting, etc.)
• Selection of the most appropriate inspection techniques
• Execution or supervision of inspection according to pre-defined Quality Plan, and to the established inspection procedures / techniques.
• Execution of inspection reporting including treatment of Non-conformities (NCR’s) and other applicable deliverables
• Ensuring quality of inspection according to BV Quality System
• Interpretation of results of inspections
• Treatment of Non-conformities / corrective actions
• Review and appraisal of inspection procedures
• Maintaining internal communication
• Promotes Bureau Veritas service portfolio to clients
• Respects security guidelines of Bureau Veritas and safeguards personal security in the working environment
• Actively participates in the sharing of knowledge and information (Knowledge Management)
• Witness Welding and Painting activities.
• Inspection of Piping, Pressure Vessel, Aboveground storage Tanks, Pipeline.
• Inspection of Static and Rotating equipment Inspection.
• Prepare inspection reports on time and submit to Team Leader for review and further action.

Technical Expertise

• Application of codes and standards, project specifications and procedures
• Within his field of competency, the inspector is expected to conduct the activities stated in Primary functions.
• Fully conversant with relevant inspection techniques and able to select the most appropriate inspection technique.
• Able to verify and approve Non-conformities / corrective actions
• Able to identify required Bureau Veritas interventions, based on a pre-defined Quality Plan and according to specified standards.
• Able to review / appraise inspection procedures

Business Requirements

• Report to IND Manager / Project Manager / INP-LOSI Operations Manager / Team Leader - Shop / Site Inspection Services about day-to-day inspection, non-compliance /discrepancy to specification.

• Maintains a high degree of expertise through permanent specialized training and knowledge management.
• Ensure that inspection is carried out as per approved drawings / Inspection test plans.

• Ensure that Inspection is carried out as per approved drawings / Inspection test plans and other applicable Technical specifications.

HSE Requirements

• Comply at all times with all applicable legal requirements, BV Abu Dhabi HSE Policies and procedures, client’s HSE procedures and code of practices.
• Maintain personal work areas tidy and hazard free and report any deviation/fault/hazard immediately to the location manager/line manager/supervisor
• Report immediately any newly identified hazard and participate in devising suitable operational control to eliminate/minimize the pertinent risk.
• Report immediately any HSE incident and cooperate in investigation
• Use appropriate PPE at work area and be aware of:
  • the risks appropriate PPE will control or minimize
  • Report immediately incase the PPE is worn off or lost.
• Communicate to their immediate manager any unsafe work practice or condition and opportunities for improvement of HSE practices.
