Job summary

WhiteBIT UAE is seeking an experienced MLRO and Compliance Officer to lead AML/CFT compliance, risk assessments, and regulatory reporting across the business. You will own local policies and controls, oversee onboarding, monitoring and investigations, and coordinate with VARA and UAE authorities.

The role requires 5+ years in compliance within regulated financial services, crypto experience, and fluent English.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years’ compliance experience, including AML/CFT responsibilities.
• Approved or nominated MLRO/compliance officer experience in UAE.
• Experience with VARA/DFSA/FSRA/CBUAE or similar UAE framework.
• Experience in regulated financial institutions, VASP/crypto, payments, brokerage or banks.
• Hands-on virtual-asset experience: blockchain analytics, wallet risk, Travel Rule, custody, fiat on/off-ramp risks.
• Strong UAE AML/CFT and sanctions knowledge, goAML, FATF, CDD/EDD, transaction monitoring, SARs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain WhiteBIT UAE’s compliance management system and regulatory obligations register.
• Develop and review local AML/CFT and sanctions policies, CDD/EDD, monitoring, reporting.
• Lead enterprise AML/CFT risk assessments across customer, product, geographic and channel risks.
• Oversee onboarding and ongoing monitoring for all client types including KYC and sanctions.
• Review transaction-monitoring and blockchain-analytics alerts; manage STR/SAR filings via goAML.
• Ensure Travel Rule compliance and VASP due diligence."
• Provide compliance advice on new products, partnerships, banking and custody arrangements.
• Report to the Board on control effectiveness, breaches, emerging risks, remediation, regulatory developments.
• Act as primary contact for VARA and UAE regulators; coordinate submissions and examinations.
• Deliver AML/CFT training and coordinate audits and remediation.
• Maintain regulatory records and support incident response and business continuity.
