Job description
Overview

Operate and maintain Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES) instrumentation. Perform complete sample preparation following strict SOPs for catalytic converter materials. Prepare standards, calibrate equipment, and run quality control samples (blanks, duplicates, CRMs) to ensure data integrity. Analyze, interpret, and report analytical data for Pt, Pd, and Rh assays. Manage all aspects of the laboratory, including inventory, supply ordering, and scheduling.

Skills
  • M.Sc. in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Metallurgy, or a related field.
  • Experience with ICP-OES operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Deep understanding of Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) protocols in a commercial lab environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred (extra)
  • Knowledge of XRF spectroscopy and carbon analysis.
  • Experience with Fire Assay methods.
  • Experience in a commercial laboratory setting within the recycling, mining, or precious metals industry.
