Full job description
The Electrical Estimation Engineer will be responsible for preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQ), performing project estimations, conducting MEP engineering assessments, and performing research associated with project cost and materials. Additionally, the role requires effective negotiation with suppliers and contractors to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency in project execution.
And also handling site work and report to manager on daily basis.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for MEP works including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Bid preparation, tender review, and cost analysis processes.
- Coordinate with project managers, design engineers, and subcontractors for pricing, scope clarifications, and technical queries.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of material, labor, and subcontractor pricing.
- Review and analyze project drawings to ensure all elements are included in the estimate.
- Support value engineering efforts and propose cost-effective design alternatives when applicable.
- Ensure estimates comply with project requirements, company policies, and industry standards.
- Review and analyze electrical tender documents.
- Prepare and verify Bill of Quantities (BOQ).
- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors for material quotations.
- Prepare, modify, and update electrical shop drawings as per project requirements.
- Prepare technical and financial proposals.
- Coordinate with other departments and handle all tender-related correspondence.
- Monitor project progress, prepare site reports, and elevate issues to the Project Manager for timely decision-making.
- Conduct site inspections, quality checks, and material approvals in line with project requirements.
- Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers for timely delivery of approved materials and services.
- Provide technical input during design, execution, testing, and commissioning stages of electrical and plumbing systems.
- Maintain strong professional relationships with consultants and clients to achieve smooth project handover.
Skills
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 2-4 years of UAE experience in MEP estimation.
- Strong understanding of MEP systems (HVAC, Firefighting, Plumbing, Electrical, etc.)
- Proficient in estimation software and MS Office (Excel, Word).
- Knowledge of local market prices, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Candidate
- UAE driving license (optional but preferred)
- Available to join immediately or within a short notice period.
