MEP Computational Engineer — Sustainable Building Design

Job summary

GHD in Abu Dhabi is expanding its Engineering team and seeks an experienced MEP Computational Engineer to work on regional projects. You will develop computational models, perform energy simulations with IESVE, and optimize building energy performance while integrating MEP systems with architects and other engineers.

The role emphasizes BIM proficiency, Rhino Grasshopper, and REViT along with strong collaboration and sustainability focus. Previous Middle East experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• Proven experience designing and implementing MEP systems.
• Experience with BIM and advanced digital tools.
• Proficiency in Rhino, Grasshopper and Ladybug.
• Experience with IESVE for energy modeling.
• Strong understanding of core engineering principles and REVIT.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Knowledge of sustainability and green building initiatives.
• Experience with HVAC load calculations and energy efficiency strategies.
• Previous experience in the Middle East region is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and utilize computational models and parametric tools to optimize MEP designs.
• Conduct building performance simulations energy modeling and thermal analysis using IESVE.
• Analyze and optimize building energy performance to enhance sustainability and efficiency.
• Design and implement mechanical electrical and plumbing systems in buildings.
• Collaborate with architects and other engineers to ensure designs are integrated seamlessly.
• Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish construction specifications.
• Ensure all designs comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements and best practices in MEP engineering to continuously improve system efficiency and sustainability.
