TikTok is seeking an experienced Tax Manager in Dubai to join the EMEA Tax Team. You will oversee tax matters for the Middle East, Africa, and Russia region, including corporate income tax and indirect tax compliance, planning, and audits.

The role involves liaison with local authorities, monitoring tax developments, and guiding tax risk management. Strong English communication and 5+ years of regional tax experience are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive tax experience in MEA region, in large MNCs or professional services.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Taxation (or professional qualifications).
• Experience in the tech sector is a plus.
• Solid international tax knowledge and strong analytical abilities.

• Fluent in professional English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Manage tax compliance and reporting in the Middle East and Africa.
• Interact with local Tax Authority and Tax Advisor; oversee VAT, DST, CIT and withholding tax filings.
• Monitor new tax legislation and assess impact on operations and finances.
• Validate tax data, reconcile VAT GL accounts, identify issues and propose solutions.
• Review draft tax returns prepared by external advisors.
• Support periodic tax compliance checks and training across business units.
• Provide tax advice for service lines and projects; support risk management.

About the team: The EMEA Tax team is building to work with other corporate functions on tax advisory, planning, structuring, and tax controversy. We ensure compliance with direct (corporate income tax) and indirect tax and solve tax related issues. TikTok is seeking an experienced Tax Manager in Dubai who will become an integral part of our EMEA Tax Team. In this role, you will be responsible for tax matters in Middle East, Africa and Russia Region, including but not limited to corporate income tax compliance, indirect tax compliance, tax planning, and tax audit, etc.

Job description:

• Manage tax compliance requirements and reporting procedures in the Middle East and Africa.
• Act as a point-of contact with the local Tax Authority and Tax Advisor, handle and manage the local tax compliance filing, including value added tax ("VAT"), digital service Tax ("DST" or similar tax regime), Corporate Income Tax, withholding tax filing procedures.
• Monitor and analyse proposed and newly enacted tax legislation, regulations and judicial decisions especially taxation in digital economy that impact the company operations and financial positions.
• Take ownership on tax validation, data reconciliation, VAT General Ledger accounts review on input tax and output tax and matching with the tax return(s), identify tax compliance issues/ red flags and provide recommendations/ practical solutions.
• Preliminary review of draft monthly/quarterly/ annual local tax returns prepared by external advisors.
• Support tax team to conduct periodical tax compliance checks on business units and highlight areas of exceptions with document compliance requirements.
• Support in conducting tax training sessions with various stakeholders as and when required.
• Provide tax advice/support on various service lines / business projects. Handle tax risk management and risk mitigation plans on the assigned tax jurisdictions.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5+ years of progressive tax working experience in Middle East/Africa region, with experience in large MNC/professional services consultancy firms.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Taxation (or professional qualifications).
• TMT/ technology industry working experience is a plus
• Should possess solid international tax knowledge/practice and analytical skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment independently
• Detail-oriented individual, a good team player, honest, adaptable, keen-learner, diligent, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Must be fluent in professional English (speaking and writing).
