Job description

Responsibilities

• Manage the mechanical engineering portfolio of substation projects, ensuring adherence to technical specifications, HSE requirements, and project budget.
• Supervise the execution of mechanical works on-site, including FPS, HVAC, MEP systems, and lifting equipment, ensuring they strictly follow approved designs and standards.
• Monitor and report construction progress, identifying and managing non-conformances, and ensuring timely resolution.
• Plan, organize, and supervise all mechanical engineering and construction inspection activities.
• Ensure safety protocols are implemented and enforced in accordance with TRANSCO and local authority standards.
• Act as the key technical interface with the client, stakeholders, and contractors.
• Verify and document installed quantities, ensuring proper project closeout and handover.
• Support the commissioning and testing of mechanical systems, ensuring readiness for operation.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve technical issues on-site.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree (BE) in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory)
• 10+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience working in projects across the Middle East.
• Strong understanding of substation-related mechanical systems, including FPS, HVAC, MEP, and lifting equipment
• Experience in site supervision, technical reporting, inspection, and project closeout
• Knowledge of local authority regulations and international mechanical engineering standards
• Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills
