Summary of the role

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for planning and designing mechanical systems and models; working on engineering calculations, and proposals for architectural projects.

Key responsibilities
  • Develop and design building mechanical systems such as HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Ensure systems and designs comply with building codes, safety standards, environmental regulations, and client specifications.
  • Collaborate with architects to integrate mechanical systems without compromising aesthetic or structural aspects of the building.
  • Work with electrical and structural engineers to ensure compatibility and functionality of all building systems.
  • Plan mechanical equipment rooms and vertical transportation systems in collaboration with other engineers.
  • Integrate smart systems for efficient control of HVAC, lighting, and security to enhance comfort, energy efficiency, and operational.
  • Use simulations and software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or HVAC-specific tools to predict system performance.
  • Stay informed on the latest trends, materials and technology in the industry to keep our projects at the forefront of innovation.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines and resources effectively.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field. (Master's Degree is preferred).
  • 6+ years of professional experience as a Mechanical Engineer specializing in Architectural system projects.
  • Preferably Registered Professional or member of professional engineering society, such as Certified HVAC Designer (CHD) or Building Energy Modeling Professional (BEMP).
  • Demonstrable portfolio with a strong experience in delivering high end projects.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Expert-level proficiency in Revit is required (minimum 5 years of experience using Revit on built projects).
  • Good familiarity with BIM coordination workflows.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong understanding of building codes and sustainability principles, such as ASHRAE & NFPA.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Creative mindset with ability to think innovatively and execute complete design concepts.
  • Ability to solve complex technical problems.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent client facing communication skills.
Working conditions and Environment
  • The position is office based from Dubai, UAE.
  • The position has no international business travel requirements.
