Job summary

Tanqeeb in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design and develop 4x4 and off-road accessories. You will create detailed 2D fabrication drawings and 3D CAD models, ensuring accurate dimensions, tolerances, and BOMs for manufacturing.

You will work closely with fabricators to translate concepts into finished products, incorporate prototype feedback, and maintain organized CAD files and documentation for ongoing projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Proficient in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360 or Inventor.
• Experience with sheet metal design, welding, fabrication and manufacturing processes.
• Experience designing automotive or off-road accessories preferred.
• Ability to read and prepare engineering drawings.
• Hands-on, workshop-friendly attitude.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop 4x4 and off-road accessories
• Create detailed 2D fabrication drawings and 3D CAD models
• Design roof racks, bumpers, skid plates, rock sliders, MOLLE panels, brackets, storage systems and camping/overlanding accessories
• Take vehicle measurements and develop designs according to actual vehicle dimensions
• Prepare manufacturing drawings, dimensions, tolerances, material specifications and BOMs
• Design components suitable for laser cutting, CNC, bending, welding and fabrication
• Work closely with fabricators and technicians to convert designs into finished products
• Modify and improve designs based on prototype testing and workshop feedback
• Ensure designs are practical, strong, lightweight, serviceable and suitable for off-road use
• Maintain accurate CAD files, drawings, revisions and product documentation

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, Inventor or similar CAD software

  • Strong understanding of sheet metal design, welding, fabrication, materials and manufacturing processes

  • Experience designing automotive, 4x4, off-road or aftermarket accessories is highly preferred

  • Ability to read and prepare engineering and fabrication drawings

  • Strong understanding of dimensions, tolerances, material selection and structural design

  • Practical, hands-on approach with the ability to work directly with the workshop team

  • UAE/GCC automotive or fabrication experience is an advantage
