Job summary

Velath Engineering International FZC is seeking a senior mechanical engineer to lead the design and detailed engineering of pressure vessels and storage tanks to ASME Sec. VIII Div 1. You will perform full-scale detailing and contribute to design of secondary structures.

The role requires seven-plus years in professional engineering, familiarity with API650 is a plus, and proficiency in PV-Elite, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and MS Office. On-site UAE work in Sharjah.

Qualifications

• Four-year Mechanical Engineering.
• ASME, ASTM, API codes and standards; ASME Joint Audit experience is desirable.
• Ability to interpret data sheets and P&IDs.
• Div 2 experience is an advantage.
• Minimum seven years’ professional engineering experience.
• Knowledge of API650 is an advantage.
• Proficiency with PV-Elite, AutoCAD, SolidWorks and Microsoft Office.

• Consult with fabrication teams during manufacturing, advising on design specs and providing assistance when required.
• Coordinate independently and with colleagues, clients, end-users and vendors on design and engineering aspects.
• Attend regular team meetings to report progress and plan timely delivery.

Job Responsibilities

• Mechanical design and detailed engineering of pressure vessels and storage tanks to ASME Sec. VIII Div 1.
• Full-scale detailing of pressure vessels and storage tanks.
• Design of secondary structures and detailing.
• Consult with production department and other departments for optimization and cost reduction while ensuring that designs are feasible
• Consult with fabrication teams during product manufacturing, advising them on design specifications and providing physical assistance when required
• Coordinate independently and with colleagues with clients, end-users and vendor with regard to all aspects of design and engineering
• Attend regular team meetings to provide progress reports, obtain updates on progress, strategize on steps to ensure timely delivery

Job Skills & Qualifications

• Four-year Mechanical Engineering
• Sound understanding of mechanical design engineering principles and codes including ASME, ASTM, API, etc.. Must have participated in ASME Joint Audit.
• Sound knowledge for interpretation of data sheets and P&IDs.
• Experience with Div 2 is an advantage, but not a requirement.
• Minimum seven years’ experience in a professional engineering position
• Knowledge of API650 is an advantage
• Proficiency with PV-Elite AutoCAD, Solid Works (preferred) and Microsoft Office
