Job summary

NMC Healthcare in Abu Dhabi seeks a highly qualified obstetrician-gynecologist specializing in Maternal and Fetal Medicine. The role involves comprehensive in-patient and out-patient care, surgical Gynecology and obstetrics, and delivery room coverage.

The candidate should hold a medical degree with internship, 3-year MFM residency with Masters/fellowship, 5+ years of exclusive obstetrics/gynecology practice, and a valid DOH license. Proficiency in English is essential; basic Arabic is a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved medical school with internship.
• Three years residency in Maternal and Fetal Medicine culminating in a Post Graduate Masters degree and/or equivalent Fellowships approved by DOH.
• Five or more years' exclusive practice of obstetrics and gynecology since certification.
• Must have DOH License to practice as Maternal and Fetal Medicine.
• Excellent command of written and oral English; basic Arabic desirable; knowledge of medical ethics.

Responsibilities

• Provide obstetric and gynecologic care in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Perform surgical gynecologic and obstetric procedures in OR and OPD.
• Cover Delivery Room: admit patients, review history, plan course, perform deliveries, liaise with midwives.
• Respond to Emergency consultations promptly.
• Provide outpatient care in clinics as assigned by Department Head.
• Perform and interpret ultrasound examinations in hospital and outpatient settings.
• Interpret fetal heart rate monitoring and take appropriate actions.
• Provide formal and informal consultations for other departments.
• Attend department head meetings and participate in committees.
• Communicate with patients' families about condition, changes, and plans.

Carries out obstetrician and gynecologic health care, both on an in-patient and out-patient basis, for those patients designated as being entitled to such care by.

Responsibilities

• Will perform professional duties as an Maternal and Fetal Medicine
• Providing surgical care both in the operating room and in the O.P.D. for gynecologic and obstetric conditions for both emergency and planned procedures.
• Covering the Delivery Room to include admitting patients, reviewing their history, planning a course of action, performing both spontaneous and operative deliveries, and interacting with midwives.
• Covering the Emergency Service by promptly responding to calls for consultation.
• Providing out-patient care in Clinics, when so assigned by the head of department.
• Doing and interpreting ultrasound examinations both in hospital and on an out-patient basis.
• Interpreting fetal heart rate monitoring and taking appropriate action.
• Carrying out formal and informal consultations from physicians from other departments.
• Attending committee meetings when so assigned by the Head of department.
• Interacting with patients' families to keep them informed of the patient's condition, changes in condition and plans.
