Job summary

NMC Healthcare in Abu Dhabi is seeking a senior obstetrician-gynecologist with Maternal and Fetal Medicine specialization. You will provide in-patient and out-patient care, perform obstetric and gynecologic surgeries, and supervise ultrasound and fetal monitoring, while coordinating with midwives and other departments.

Applicants must have MD/MBBS with MFM residency, five+ years in obstetrics/gynecology, and a DOH license; excellent English is essential, basic Arabic desirable; UAE DOH

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved medical school with internship.
• Three years residency in Maternal and Fetal Medicine culminating in a Masters or equivalent Fellowships approved by DOH.
• Five or more years of exclusive obstetrics and gynecology practice since certification.
• Must have DOH License to practice as Maternal and Fetal Medicine.
• Excellent command of written and oral English; basic Arabic desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional duties as a Maternal and Fetal Medicine specialist.
• Provide gynecologic and obstetric surgical care in OR and OPD for emergencies and planned procedures.
• Cover the Delivery Room, review patient histories and plan actions, perform deliveries.
• Respond to emergencies in the Emergency Service and provide consultations.
• Provide outpatient care in clinics as assigned by the head of department.
• Perform and interpret ultrasound examinations in hospital and outpatient settings.
• Interpret fetal heart rate monitoring and take appropriate action.
• Carry out consultations with physicians from other departments.
• Attend committee meetings as assigned by the Head of Department.
• Interact with patients' families to explain conditions, changes, and plans.

Carries out obstetrician and gynecologic health care, both on an in-patient and out-patient basis, for those patients designated as being entitled to such care by.

Responsibilities

• Will perform professional duties as an Maternal and Fetal Medicine
• Providing surgical care both in the operating room and in the O.P.D. for gynecologic and obstetric conditions for both emergency and planned procedures.
• Covering the Delivery Room to include admitting patients, reviewing their history, planning a course of action, performing both spontaneous and operative deliveries, and interacting with midwives.
• Covering the Emergency Service by promptly responding to calls for consultation.
• Providing out-patient care in Clinics, when so assigned by the head of department.
• Doing and interpreting ultrasound examinations both in hospital and on an out-patient basis.
• Interpreting fetal heart rate monitoring and taking appropriate action.
• Carrying out formal and informal consultations from physicians from other departments.
• Attending committee meetings when so assigned by the Head of department.
• Interacting with patients' families to keep them informed of the patient's condition, changes in condition and plans.

Qualifications

• Three years residency in Maternal and Fetal Medicine culminating in procuring a Post Graduate Masters degree and/or equivalent Fellowships approved by DOH.
• Five or more year’s exclusive practice of obstetrics and gynecology since certification.
• Must have DOH License to practice as Maternal and Fetal Medicine
• An excellent command of written and oral English.
• Basic knowledge of medical Arabic desirable.
• Must have a thorough knowledge of medical ethics
