Job summary

POWERTECH in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Material Planning professional to translate production plans into material requirements and manage MRP processes in SAP.

You will ensure component availability, coordinate with Procurement and Suppliers, and drive actions to minimize shortages while balancing stock, lead times, and production schedules.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience in Material Planning, Procurement, or Production Control within a manufacturing or engineering organization.
  • Practical experience in running MRP processes using SAP or comparable ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with BOM structures, lead-time management, and supplier coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Translate the approved production plan into material requirements by running and maintaining the MRP process in SAP.
  • Monitor material availability and ensure all components, parts, and subassemblies are ready for production as scheduled.
  • Identify shortages, coordinate with Procurement and Suppliers, and implement mitigation actions to prevent production delays.
  • Continuously evaluate stock coverage, shelf-life, and obsolescence risks. Maintain visibility on materials in transit, under inspection, or on hold.
  • Coordinate material priorities with Production, Procurement, and Warehouse teams to ensure timely component availability.

About POWERTECH

POWERTECH is a center of excellence for propulsion technologies, specializing in the design, engineering, and manufacturing of combustion engines, expendable turbojet engines, and turbofan engines for a wide range of aerospace, defence, and autonomous applications, including fixed- and rotary-wing UAVs and other advanced platforms.

Key Accountabilities
Material Requirements Planning (MRP) Execution:
  • Translate the approved production plan into material requirements by running and maintaining the MRP process in SAP. Ensure timely and accurate generation of purchase requisitions (PRs) and production orders based on bills of material (BOM) and planning parameters.
Supply Assurance & Availability Management:
  • Monitor material availability and ensure all components, parts, and subassemblies are ready for production as scheduled. Identify shortages, coordinate with Procurement and Suppliers, and implement mitigation actions to prevent production delays.
Exception Management & Issue Resolution:
  • Identify and manage material shortages, delivery delays, and unexpected demand changes. Lead daily exception reviews, propose corrective actions, and ensure quick resolution through close collaboration with procurement and production.
Inventory & Stock Health Management:
  • Continuously evaluate stock coverage, shelf-life, and obsolescence risks. Maintain visibility on materials in transit, under inspection, or on hold. Recommend inventory adjustments to balance availability, working capital, and service levels.
Cross-Functional Alignment:
  • Coordinate material priorities with Production, Procurement, and Warehouse teams to ensure timely component availability. Provide transparency on critical items, backlog situations, and expediting requirements to key stakeholders.
Compliance & Documentation:
  • Maintain traceability of all material movements, planning changes, and exception handling in compliance with EDGE Group standards and regulatory requirements. Ensure proper documentation and system updates for audits and KPI reporting.
Experience
  • 2–4 years of experience in Material Planning, Procurement, or Production Control within a manufacturing or engineering organization.
  • Practical experience in running MRP processes using SAP or comparable ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with BOM structures, lead-time management, and supplier coordination.
EDUCATION
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or a related technical or business field.
  • Preferred certifications: APICS CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent.
Key Skills
  • Strong understanding of MRP logic, planning parameters, and master data governance
  • Proficiency in SAP MM/MRP modules and Excel-based data analysis
  • Analytical and structured approach to identifying material risks and priorities
