Job Description:

Material Engineer

Abu Dhabi, UAE

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Material Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to involve in monitoring, inspection, coordination, witnessing, documentation of all material of the project to ensure that the project is constructed as per Contract requirements and specifications

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Review the Contractor's material submittals and obtain the required approvals according to the applicable standards and project specifications.
  • Serves as the focal point for the scheduling and control of construction materials and equipment at the job site
  • Conducts inspections to determine if work has been done in accordance with contract specifications.
  • Coordinates work of subconsultants for material testing
  • Maintains office files related to the project, material inspections and writes daily diaries.
  • Prepares daily reports and other documentation, as required by the contract
  • Verifies that only approved materials are incorporated in the work
  • Recognizes potential conflicts, issues and problems on construction materials, and reports to supervisor with proposed solution
  • Collects, reviews and files Certificate of Compliance, MSDS, inspection tags and other information relevant to the materials used.
  • May provide technical guidance to lower-level
  • Participates in the development of job safety practices and in the preparation of safety reports
  • Participates in the development of quality control reports and procedures
  • Capability to perform math calculation in order to prepare engineering calculations, graphs and charts
  • Observe, check and record works execution is in accordance with approved methods
  • Check material delivered are as approved and properly stored
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
  • Relevant experience in UAE preferred in Abu Dhabi city.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction-related field, or equivalent construction-related work experience.
  • At least 10 years of overall experience in quality assurance / quality control in roads , structures and related works and holding construction training certificate of QA/QC.
  • Experience in the construction of infrastructure, landscaping and road projects at domestic and/or foreign locations is preferred in AL AIN
  • Must be able to read and interpret plans and specifications and be thoroughly familiar with construction-related processes related to the area of assignment
  • Knowledge of English grammar and composition, the ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing; to follow oral and written instructions, prepare written messages and simple charts and graphs
  • Preferably Arabic speaker.
